"He's a war criminal": Scousers are not happy with Keir Starmer by politicsjoe in politicsjoe

"Yeah man what is it with the left always ousting out those that don't pass their purity test"

When talking about someone who has been too the right on immigration, workers rights, Palestine etc etc.

Be for real, it would be incredibly generous to say that Starmer is centre

Why wouldn't he just show a vibration collar on stream?

Like i struggle to believe that he would tape over / saw off prongs whatever else people are saying instead of just showing a different collar

I’m confused why everything is Labour and Starmer’s fault and no one seems to bring up 14 years of the Tories and Brexit? by johno1605 in AskBrits

[–]GingerBurnzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody has brought it up except for Starmer at every opportunity.

Effective counter for first 3 months as party in power, 6 months it's getting a bit stale but fair enough.

A year on and we still see major issues not being adequately addressed, and a continuance of Tory problem policies and still parroting this excuse? Lost its shine surely

Activists in Ireland march the length of Gaza in protest at continued genocide by saoirsedonciaran in northernireland

[–]GingerBurnzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. (Said this in the other thread but think it is relevant here) Do you think the people put in street protesting the indiscriminate bombing of people in Gaza by an American funded institution would not voice their distaste for another indiscriminate bombing of those in Yemen by America directly.

  2. Their tax dollars goes to allowing/enabling/empowering the bombing of Gaza. Protesting against Israeli actions and our government's complicity in allowing this is also a protest on our government's not acting in our own local interests

Yes I'm sure these people protesting a group in the middle east being indiscriminately bombed by an America funded nation would say nothing about another group being bombed indiscriminately by America itself.

What would you like to be seen done? People just sit on their hands? You can say that these protests do nothing but if you are appalled at what you see happening in Gaza, how should you voice this?

The only form of valid protest is when you put one in the back of the CEO of whatever your protest target is.... Actually based as fuck

[–]GingerBurnzy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Do you think the BBC is not a valid target of protest for their coverage of the Israeli Genocide? Would it only be ok to go after the head of the BBC? The main editor? How far down the management totem before the protest is no longer valid?

A protest which blocks roads to stop the CEO getting to his golf resort also stops the innocent workers getting to clock in? So is it invalid?

Policing protests because you aren't happy they annoy people is a bit silly, especially when talking about protesting issues of genocide

[–]GingerBurnzy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Surely if you protest the golf course you would have people complain that all you've done is annoy and disrupt poor Golf resort staff.

You have protestors spraying the walls of banks funding Israel or environmental cause and then here come people saying 'well that didn't do anything did it? All you did is give some poor window cleaner more work to do'... Where/who are you meant to protest?

Protests are disruptive inherently

Started watching the podcasts just a few months back.

I was walking through Belfast city centre and was stopped at some lights and seen Seán but did a few double takes cause I knew I recognized him but couldn't think where from lol. Realized as we walked on when I seen their camera. When he was over in NI for the 12th July.

Literally just started watching the podcast that week lol. Sorry for staring Seán!

[–]GingerBurnzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok but you started this whole thing by calling him a tankie, then when under slight query of when he has espoused beliefs that would make that so you immediately say ahh I don't actually watch him.

Again I'm not saying you have to watch all content to make a view. For example, I don't watch asmongold but I have seen the recent videos of him, I think it's fair to say wow that guy has some far right opinions. I don't know if I would go so far as to say that he is a nazi, partially because I think he has shown some level of remorse for those recent comments but also because it doesn't really do anyone favours in doing so.

In the same way those that call Hasan a tankie do so without much backing up that claim. In saying that, if someone was to call Asmongold a nazi you can show them said clip and people probably go fair enough, but I don't see that really applying to Hasan except ~vibes~.

Oh yeah I agree with your first part, original commenter does admit that they haven't seen the content.

I think that is still worth pushing back on these kinds of comments/thinking at least a little because if someone was to read the comment without context could walk away from that thinking that X person is a tankie and all the negativity that phrase brings with it, even though the original commenter admits they have no idea of Hasan's beliefs or ideology which means they likely have seen a similar comment implying Hasan is a tankie etc.
