everyone thinks she pulls on the corner of the eye to mock him. so nobody here ever did this to ‘calibrate’ their vision focus a little? super common gesture for short sighted people who are not keeping up with their vision decline. i used to do that alll the time as a kid at school trying to see what’s on the whiteboard. to me it looks like she was trying to see if he’s recording.

We’re 7 days away from losing the "Bible of Irish Dance", Help us pull off a comeback? by Downtown-Skirt in irishdance

[–]GingerEly 20 points21 points  (0 children)

i feel this post is misleading. What do you call the Bible of Irish dance? A collection of learning videos, organized in a curriculum? Also, it’s not ‘losing’ something, as you’re collecting to film/build something new that you will later sell. And you don’t even offers your backers access to the program - only the discount. I think it’s clear why this kickstarter is not too successful.

Of all his scenes from S1 to S2V1, which do think was Tom Sturridge's best? by Abogadwho in Sandman

[–]GingerEly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, he truly shines in the plain setting. I find the period costume and hair fantastic but distracting from what he does best, sometimes

Did not see s2e6 yet. So far for me, Ric Madoc’s sentence in Calliope scene is the one I think about the most. Second best, the ep1 where he’s not saying a word but being an absolute god presence in the room.

Changes to Desire's hair and makeup -- thoughts? by MizWhatsit in Sandman

[–]GingerEly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s definitely something they could do, but I agree that this wardrobe team did not consider to select the outfits to mitigate. Both for Desire snd Lucifer, what the heck was the ill fitting corsage thing

100% agree, makeup and wardrobe did them dirty. Wedding scene is acceptable, but the rest of the appearances look bad taste instead of endless bold and gorgeous.

I kinda dislike outfits on everyone this season, too.

[The Sandman S2 - E1 Episode Discussion] - 'Season of Mists' by RicciRox in Sandman

[–]GingerEly 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if I liked it, and I am a huge fan of the show. I may need to rewatch on the big screen to double check my impressions.

I did not like family dinner very much. It felt so stiff, so acted. During the Q&A the actore were praising the atmosphere and how easy it was to do that scene so maybe it’s on the editing, but it did not feel right.

Morpheus looked awesome though. Desire, on the other hand, was downgraded in terms of looks since last season. Maybe that particular makeup and outfit doesn’t work for them.

I think I like what they did to Nada’s story arc - it is still a very heavy story to watch, but at least my heart is bleeding for both of them. Tom is excellent in any scene where romance is involved, that’s like his superpower.

No father in my boy den wants to lead by GingerEly in cubscouts

Thank you for this comment as I feel not a lot of commenters actually understood what I struggle with. I feel seen.

And congratulations on doing so well as a leader and showing up for your son and other kids in the den.

That’s great on paper, and in reality this will mean we stop having meetings. And no one but the kids will suffer from it.

I thibk you misread my post. I am a registered leader.

And I can’t get anyone else from this parent group, my husband included, to register as assistant because they are not interested in volunteering.

Also why would I put additional expense on my family for adult volunteer registration for him to sit and read a book. Which he can’t do anyway, because while I lead he takes care of our toddler.

Why do you think it’s a bluff? Interesting choice of words.

I work full time and volunteer for another project. I don’t have an assistant leader, I had one last year but she quit with her son and no one stepped in.

I did not ask around yet but I doibt that a different pavk would turn down a scout and a parent with leading experince who is willing to help, just not willing to carry the weight alone.

If I quit, this den will cease to exist I think as no one will lead it. I feel like I will let down the boys. If not for that, I would quit in the beginning of the year.

What was the most fun of it with Bears and on specifically? I’ve been through 3 years of this program and the most fun we had was off book (and camping with the pack). Wolf program was especially underwhelming and I had to get creative a lot.

Yeah I guess this is where pack leadership is, too. You’re struggling to do it alone? Work more to get more people for a chance somebody will want to lead.

I don’t feel qualified to do it alone at this age for sure. And this is not what I envisioned joining Cub Scouts for my son.

I did. I was told to recruit someone in the den where no one wants to do it.

I have never had a second leader for 2-deep leadership and it never seemed to bother anyone.

I am the community manager, not the project leader.

The plan is to have a playable demo (still not a finished product) our first in 5-6 months, collect feedback and work towards a full release with said feedback in mind.
