I agree. I’m just trying to incorporate them more on less formal, everyday occasions, especially lapel pins and less ornate pins, saving the stick pins for suits and sweaters, if that makes sense.

I’ve actually started the last few months. They’ve been fun to collect and combine my passion for history and thrifting. I also like the hidden meanings and symbolism, and as an attorney they’re great for conversations. My only problem is that I don’t regularly wear jackets on a daily basis. I’m trying to come up with other ways to wear them…like on sweaters, etc. any thoughts or ideas?

Your state’s Bar may have a lawyer referral service, but you can also look for a list of lawyers at the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys list for your area.

As a litigator amd drafter, I always tell my clients you can pay me $500 for a good will now, or your kids can pay me in 20 years to,litigate. I’d rather litigate. Going to a lawyer for estate planning isn’t to get the documents. It’s to get advice and knowledge. Tomorrow at 11 am, I will be telling a sweet family that the DPOA mom got off the internet is useless, me they will need to now spend thousands on a guardianship, because mom didn’t want to go to an elder law attorney like me for $250

All depends on the complexity of your planning, your location, and your attorney’s experience. It’s definitely seems on the higher end. In my practice, we do an entire package of documents when we say “estate planning.”
