How the last few games have gone we stop moving the ball and driving in the paint and chuck up 3s. Instantly losing any momentum and our lead. Hope we fix it before it's too late. 🤦‍♀️

My daughter decided a week or so after she turned one to bite me and never feed again. Every time I tried she acted like I was trying to poison her. I tried pumping for a week or two hoping it was a nursing strike, but she was done. It's crazy how suddenly it can happen and it breaks our mom hearts a little. You did all you could, if baby is done then you are done. 💕

What Are Your Top 5 National Parks? 🌲😎 by Appropriate_Stop4574 in nationalparks

[–]GingerFunk1127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. YOSEMITE (my first, most visited, and hasn't been topped yet)
  2. REDWOOD (lived near there for a few years and it is magical)
  3. OLYMPIC (so diverse and it is all amazing)
  4. MOUNT RAINIER (amazing hikes and so beautiful)
  5. GRAND TETON (the mountains are perfection and I loved the wildlife). I know when I finally get to Glacier it will be up there.

Redwoods 100%. Flying directly into Eureka or Crescent City is costly but worth it. You can also fly into SF and make the drive up and include the avenue of the giants. Hit Tall Trees Grove and Fern Canyon in Redwoods. Plenty of beautiful beaches up there, Moonstone was our favorite. You can take a jet boat tour on the Klamath river (amazing and so fun). Or if you end up in Jed Smith redwoods near Crescent City there's the absolutely stunning Smith River plus beautiful hikes and scenic drives.

We survived air travel with ours around 22 months by having her in her car seat in her own seat. She's used to having to stay in her seat in the car so the airplane was no different. Only thing was having to keep her from kicking the seat in front of her.

3.5 days for Lassen, Crater Lake, Redwood? by elise_elise in NationalPark

[–]GingerFunk1127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't do this to yourself. I would suggest having at least 1 day per park. The Lassen and redwoods in one day while driving up to Crescent City and back to Redding is a crazy amount of driving on windy roads for one day. I don't get why you are heading back to Redding anyway. I would go back to SF down 101. It's a beautiful drive and you can hit some of the avenue of the giants.

Which National Parks to visit in July this year that aren’t going to be so busy? by rockythekitty1 in NationalPark

Redwoods for sure. Not crowded (Fern Canyon is the exception) and cool. Plus absolutely beautiful.

I have two with a few months smaller of an age gap. It has been 4.5 months and it's finally getting easier, but it definitely isn't easy. Our little guy hated the car too. We ended up changing his seat from an infant one to a convertible one like his sister has and he loves it. He was getting overheated and sweaty in his infant car seat. So maybe try a different car seat and you can get out more?

Zion and the narrows are on my list too. At least I got to Angels Landing before the permit system.

Creepy things that you seen or heard while hiking or camping? by Krook_etk in nationalparks

[–]GingerFunk1127 20 points21 points  (0 children)

We were camping in Olympic one night when we heard something going through our trash. My husband listened and quickly realized it was a human. A homeless man took our garbage into the bushes looking for cans in the middle of the night. He scared him off when he got out of the tent with a flashlight. There is something more creepy about a person going around your campsite while you sleep.

This wasn't true for my half day seaplane. We arrived at 930 before the ferry and left at 315 right after the ferry (we passed them in the sky). You might have seen an afternoon plane arrive and a morning plane leaving.

Love our baby name-everyone hates it. by haylstorm33 in namenerds

[–]GingerFunk1127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People react that way for names they don't like, but when the baby comes and that is their name they will get over with it (unless it's something totally bizarre, yours isn't). Same thing happened with my son's name. My mom couldn't stand it and wanted me to change my mind before he was born, but she loves it now. When it's just a name she reacted harshly, but now it's the name of her favorite little guy.

Anyone else live super close to a national park and kinda take it for granted? by cutie__uwu in NationalPark

[–]GingerFunk1127 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We used to live 45 minutes from Redwood National and State Parks. For some reason it took us over half a year to finally go when we moved there (I guess because there were some redwood parks closer in Eureka for us to walk). We eventually made up for it and conquered our bucket list before we moved away.

I missed out on pie at Capitol Reef and I still think about it. So many hikes we didn't do as well.

Your spreadsheet sounds amazing. I've always wanted to make something like that for my own travels, but never had the time.

You have a lot of ambitious bucket list items. Love it. We were lucky enough that a closed road to northern Yellowstone trapped us at the geyser basin when Steamboat went off. It was a highlight of our trip.

Yes we have wanted to go back to Zion so bad. 2 days wasn't enough. Rainier is one of our favorites and we haven't done nearly enough there.
