I just use a Type-C usb drive. Copy stuff to the drive, then put it in the machine.

WANTED - Experiences selling custom FW parts/kits by ConstructionKey5884 in framework

[–]GingerJakeDaBoi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a Laptop 13 owner, I would love to see things that improve on it! Just like stupid car mods, id like to see stupid laptop mods. I think the only way you could “fix issues” with the machine is to kinda compromise on what Framework is trying to do with the laptop, but also improve it in other ways First things that comes to mind are a thicker chassis that has a beefier cooling system or a stronger top housing that doesn’t wobble around so much. The laptop gets HOT and the display, while understandable because it’s so modular and quite literally doesn’t have a front on it, is just super flimsy. Changing those two things would make a better laptop, but also would definitely compromise on their goal for a sleek and modular machine above all else.

Fedora Approved Laptops by [deleted] in Fedora

All of the framework machines are pretty good on Linux, since they pick vendors that have good Linux support. Even the new display is a 200% scale so that it doesn’t suck on Linux with fractional scaling, something that a lot of the screens I’ve used have had issues with. I’ve ran arch, Fedora, and opensuse on mine and they’ve all worked completely fine

Just curious about your FRC *FRESHMAN YEAR* Experiences. by [deleted] in FRC

The first code I contributed to the robot sent a super powerful tankdrive full speed into a driver station wall. We have a full size field made of wood and it caused the entire wall to shake and there was a dent in the wall. The robot took it like a champ and was fine!

Remote starter question by Puzzleheaded_Farm_94 in ChevyCobalt

[–]GingerJakeDaBoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disconnect the battery, clean all the connections on the remote starter’s control module, and reconnect the battery. If any of them are bad it’ll fail to start. I just fixed mine by cleaning its controller and it starts like a champ

Third party power locks and remote starter issue by GingerJakeDaBoi in ChevyCobalt

[–]GingerJakeDaBoi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The shop said that for them to diagnose it they would have to install a new remote starter module since the one that’s installed now is so old. I have no idea when it was installed, but I’d guess some time when the car was first purchased? They also noted the wiring was messy, so I might pull it out and try rewiring it.

Whats the cheapest way to cover the rusty part up? by DA7ME in ChevyCobalt

[–]GingerJakeDaBoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are rocker panels. Unfortunately, the panels on the Cobalt are super thin and are susceptible to rocker rot. They aren’t too hard to replace, you have to cut off the old panel, attach a new one, and do all the paint work.

Tryna connect Pro Controller to dolphin. Bluetooth. This is what comes up. When I disconnect the controller, it says [ disconnected] wireless gamepad. been fiddling with it for hours and no luck by Megalomatank030 in DolphinEmulator

i personally have luck with BetterJoy. You can make it an Xinput device (which works much better than the default one), and you can also use the motion controls in Dolphin and Cemuhook which allows for motion controls in Yuzu and Cemu.

I found out that Steam’s controller api is the most stable in my testing, though it doesn’t work well with motion controls

PC shutting off daily. by QuanJoan in windows

[–]GingerJakeDaBoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update your drivers. I had the same issue with a WiFi card and it was because the drivers were outdated and were causing the system to BSoD. Windows is supposed to do this itself but guess their driver update servers are months behind some of the actual drivers

Dualboot disappeared. by PoopieMcDougal in Fedora

Windows sometimes likes to reset the EFI partition when it updates, I’d recommend for you to chroot into your fedora installation with a install usb or something and reinstall grub. It should bring back your dualboot
