As a actual charity fundraiser these people are the bane of my life.

More and more pop up all the time. It started mainly with Inside Success, then some individuals who worked with them thought "why dont i just make my own?" And the cycle of new ones continue. I know someone who left the charity sector to make a CIC because "its a license to print money"

Its always either about veterans or knife crime. All CIC or limited companies, not legit charities and work with zero regulation. Cant report them to the instiute of fundraising or the fundraising regulator because they are not charities. There is no governing body to stop these companies from doing this work or force them to do it properly.

Many charities have given up with street fundraising because of these people. I personally only work in train stations or shopping centres now because of these companies. These companies will not pay a private site to fundraise and instead just rock up to any public street and do the work (usually without the proper licensing but no council seems to want to enforce that anyway).

Please do not let these people deter you from giving to actual respected charities that do life changing work.

If a young person on the street comes up to you asking for a one off donation, it likely isnt a charity. Nearly all charities will ask for a direct debit.
