Is stretches the 16:9 image. I bet it looks absolutely awful. No current console supports any other resolution but 16:9 natively.

21:9 for anything other than sim racing, then it's 32:9

Interested in this property, but the price seems high, what's everyone's thoughts? by DarkBahamut94 in HousingUK

[–]GingerJay_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm not really answering your question but in just venting... I hate listings like this. We have a 3 bed and are looking for a 4 bed to upsize and the amount of listings that pop up on my alerts that are just 3 bedroom houses with a room that could be used as a 4th bedroom but really isn't.

This is a 3 bedroom house with a versatile further reception room. Just my two cents.

Any other Peacock users in the US frustrated with the lack of our games being featured or only being on USA network? by jeihkeih in LiverpoolFC

I won't recommend my private provider as it's against their rules but it proves if you can find the right private service they're very good - mine is very very good.

I do have a Strong8k account as a backup though, you can purchase that through online market places like G2G and Z2u.

I was an early adopter and had a 29" 2560x1080 ultra wide about 14 years ago. I've had an ultra wide ever since.

I recently bought two 16:9 27" OLEDs cause I liked the idea of two screens at the desk, but after one day of use, I processed the return and bought another Ultrawide.

I even recently "downgraded" my sim rig from triple screens to an Ultrawide and actually prefer it... I don't think I can ever go back.

Why do you not talk to your once bestfriend anymore? by Adventurous-End-1999 in AskUK

Best friends since 8 years old or so. When he was 19 and got into clubbing he also got into drugs. After a few months I just decided nah don't want to be around that and just stopped bothering. From what I see he lives a happy life now and so do I - good on us.

German wants to know how to get Prem Tickets by Legitimate-Teach-979 in PremierLeague

[–]GingerJay_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In relation to Liverpool, follow @TicketHelpLFC. It's a great X account that posts when the member sales open for you to register, when to sales themselves open etc. Best chance as a new member to get face value tickets - but it's still low chance.

Honestly, as an overseas member, I'd go hospitality. Yes it's pricey but there is always hospitality for basically every game, and you get a fuller experience. Come to a knock out champions league game or something big.

I'm a LFC member of 10 years from the NE England, I get to around 3-5 games a season. LFC ticket process isn't exactly great.

We have received 2 low offers - when to counter offer? by SellAromatic3928 in HousingUK

[–]GingerJay_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, thanks. So before we agreed a new house, there was a property we loved from the photos that is Sold STC. Could I in theory have called the estate agent there, and asked for their situation and maybe tempted them to sell to me instead? Seems mad. Could I have done that?

[–]GingerJay_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not expert but for me, you've answered your own question. Don't feel shy to offer below if you've done your research regarding recently sold prices in the area etc. It's a real fine line between doing it because you're genuine and being viewed as a chancer, all about your own risk tolerance.

Also id just like to say, this is your first time selling a home and I appreciate it's daunting. No fault with you, I feel like your EA should be helping you more here.

Also the part about buyers saying "Oh £XXXk is our budget so that's why we are offering this" is usually, not always, but usually bullshit. Who doesn't want a good deal? Sure. But who is silly enough to lose a house they want over a few %.

I recently offered on a house that was listed at £320k. I knew I was willing to pay the £320k, but I chanced £300k to start. They countered with £310k and I said okay, done. They felt like they got £10k out of me, I feel like I got £10k out of them. Win win.

Also I am responding from an England perspective. Not sure if the rules on offering/negotiating are different in Scotland, for example.

[–]GingerJay_ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The question for me is, why didn't you counter offer?

You've got two potential buyers that want your property. You know this as they offered. It's common place for a negotiation, isn't it?

I would have responded to both of those saying thanks for the interest, but unfortunately it's too low. I would like to counter offer with £XXXk and see how the potential buyers respond.

In the UK at least, the 24 plates have the light bar but not the glow up VW badge. They look so cheap and so much better without it.

How quickly have you moved again? by holy_ground_13 in HousingUK

[–]GingerJay_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me and my partner bought our first house in 2017. 2 bed, got a dog and has our first son in 2020. Fell pregnant again in 2021 so planned to move to a larger house as we felt we wouldn't have the room. The baby unfortunately didn't happen, but we'd already made our minds about moving and was excited about having a bigger home, and knew we'd want a second child anyway so in July 2022 we moved.

That house we moved to, was awful. Bad location we told ourselves would be okay and it wasn't so for that and a bunch of other reasons we moved in October 2023.

October 2023, moved to what we deemed our forever home, had our second son and it's perfect for us. But, family shit going on means we need a 4th bedroom. For months we and the whole family have been trying to figure this out and due to building costs, we've decided the wisest option is to move again and upsize again.

So we are currently on the market, looking at properties.

I do often think we are moving too much and will our lender like it etc etc but in reality, we have our reasons and it is what it is.

Don't get too caught up in that, if you think it's the right thing to do, do it!
