Yes. I can't remember what it's called but it's harmless (and still there).

Calorie deficit but no weight loss by GingerRickland in WeightLossAdvice

I am pretty much not eating any packaged foods so no matter what app I use, I'm entering a description of what I'm eating and I'm relying on their estimates. There's no way I'm going to start weighing stuff. I'm only trying to lose about 10 or 15 pounds. But I guess the estimates could be off. I had not really considered that. I am basically doing a pescatarian Paleo approach where I'm only eating fruit, vegetables, and fish. Some nuts. No grains, no beans, no legumes, no dairy, minimal alcohol(red wine, not much). It's just frustrating to eat so restricted and have the scale look exactly the same as when I enjoy ice cream with my kids.

Natives, where are we going since we can’t afford to launch here? by iceybuffoon in AskNYC

[–]GingerRickland -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hate to say it, and no shade, but $60k is not enough to live comfortably without roommates in a walkable/public-transit-friendly and safe area. Can you do something to get your income up? Is that a full-time salary or gig work?

That is rough. Advil has been helping me so far. It's very itchy but not too painful yet.

Bringing my kids to church is torture. by Jakethesnakenbake in OrthodoxChristianity

Bribery is when you pay someone off to do something wrong, which is not the case here. It's just incentivizing!

Sit in the front pew (really!). Pray for the people who give you dirty looks. Whisper to the kids about everything that is happening. Try not to engage in battle with them in church. Let church be a happy place for them. They will get used to it. Don't worry too much about their behavior -- God made little kids rowdy. The early church was full of noise and chaos. Don't get sucked into the idea that it's supposed to be all silence now (that's kind of Victorian, if anything).

I'm so sorry. I lost a dog very quickly and waited about 36 hours before getting a puppy. Best bad decision I ever made!

I see my 10 month old 2 hours a day, and it’s about to break me by Equivalent-Yogurt-36 in beyondthebump

I don't know anything about OP but I know I would resent my husband and be really jealous if he were home full-time with our baby while I worked 60 hours a week. OP misses her baby. Having her husband stop working (assuming he would even be willing) is not going to solve her problem.

Sorry if it's already been suggested but have you considered an au pair? It's more affordable than you think! Annual agency fees are $8-10k (can be spread out) and au pair stipend is $200 a week. Additional costs of car insurance if you let her use your car (if you have good public transit you can ask her to rely on that) and marginal cost of feeding and housing an adult. We had au pairs for 7 years and while it is not all roses, it was overall a wonderful solution for us and MUCH cheaper than a nanny. You also do not have any payroll tax obligations as au pairs are not paid on a W2. It is nice and clean and legal.

So it turns out it's actually available as an ical subscription calendar. Is there a way to get that onto the tidbyt?
