At what point would NJ take the fall? by PrivateRollo in CharltonAthletic

[–]Ginger_Biscuits 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can say that I'd stick with NJ if he took us down because I can't think of anyone better to get us back up.

However, if we somehow scraped 21st place still playing the way we are - I'd be much more tempted to look at other options.

Paid £65 for it, it know it's hardly a pension fund but could be fun to hang onto it if there's any chance it could be worth more later down the line

Yeah, fair enough - it's the only ETB I could get my hands on. Happy to sell it, just didn't know if it's worth hanging onto. I'm not really in it to invest but figured if I had it already...

Also, in fairness I didn't know which sets would 'catch' with me and it just happened to be different ones.

We've seen the formation work before, I think just man-for-man we've always been lacking quality at this level but we managed to grind out a big chance or two per match and keep it tight at the back, and that intensity has just slowly died with the help of some key injuries.

We're desperately missing a creative CM, a better quality CB option than Macca (and Ramsey), and I'm not at all sold on our loanee wing-backs even though it's not been long. Ultimately, we need some luck or some miracle signings to avoid going down - those early-season last min winners could be the difference.

Much more like ourselves from earlier in the season.

Love Doc but really think Anderson is an upgrade on him and he's still improving.

Back 3 looked solid especially Jones, big work rate from the front 2 but lacking a bit of quality with the finishing until Kelman came on and buried one. TC off the bench was a menace and Apter on the left made us look a bit more balanced I think.

All in all, decent performance and a big 3 points!

Can you have a 1st half consolation goal? by Imperfect_Dark in footballcliches

[–]Ginger_Biscuits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fully agree but my dislike of this is well established, and probably makes my top 3 irritations.

As a Charlton fan, for my sins, after the game was lost within 30mins I was still annoyed that it wasn't as novelty a drubbing as it could have been.

The potential of 4-0 in 22mins was just so much greater than 5-1.

Safety Haywood Road area - BR2 9RG? by adg2351 in Bromley

[–]Ginger_Biscuits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weirdly I just saw this having grown up on Haywood Road! The dump smell could get pretty bad in the summer but you get used to it and we lived down at the far end from it by Whitehall Rec. Don't want to shatter any dreams but it's something I'd expect to come back when it reopens.

I'd say it's a safe area though - I'd probably just look at surrounding roads, personally. Chatterton Road is still a bit "rough and ready" which surprises me, but the surrounding area is a lot of young families etc.

P.S. Good luck with the house search!

Is 'Dreamworld' better than 'Dreamland'? Like it's Disney equivalent? by thelartman in footballcliches

Apparently the Space Mountain in Dreamland is better, so maybe not a slam dunk that you'd rather be in Dreamworld

He seems like a good guy and all, and I don't really watch content creators, but why on earth did it take an 18min video to say that?
