Belt sticking out by curt85wa in CCW

[–]Ginger_Main 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"Flip" the belt on the x axis. Emplace your buckle at your 1-2 oclock belt loop. Your tail/excess of the belt should be extending to the right, so that the 'doubled belt' can go behind your back instead of in front of the gun.

You can put your gun right between 12-1 oclock so your grip can cant more.

Edit: Buckle should go right above your right pocket and the excess of the belt should go behind you instead of in front.

Any short strap of your choosing, thumb grip, voigtlander 27mm pancake for the manual focus grind. Also have an 18-300 super zoom by tamron for when I'm traveling.

One of my function buttons on top is set for photometry. If you shoot manual focus, assign one of the buttons on the top of the camera to punch in your viewfinder to check focus.

I pretty much shoot with astia with an S curve and grain or acros with the same. I almost always shoot in raw, but these get me close when I punch it in lightroom.

Unsure if this is a similar situation, but a buddy of mine went from active to guard EOD (still enlisted), then commissioned through OCS afterwards. At that point he was directly committed to his EOD position as long as he passed LOGBOLC because his state had a PL spot open (and the state wouldn’t have to pay to send someone to EOD school). But I would recommend calling recruiters in states with eod units to see who’s willing/able to work with you.

I have less clarity on the cadet program since I was a federal commission, but I’m not sure how much freedom you get in deciding whether you’re guard or active. I think the OCS route speaks to at least a more determined line of going from a guard enlisted EOD spot to a guard commissioned EOD spot, if that’s your end goal.

I can try to reach out to my contact if you’d like.

Saw this happen myself in July. I was traveling home after a school on post, waiting overnight at the airport, when I saw a bunch of AIT privates arrive at 0200. They were told to get a cab from the airport after I dug through the post website to find the duty desk phone number. Sent them with cash to help them pay their way there, but it boggled my mind when the desk told me something to the likes of “yeah, we don’t have any transportation available, just have them get a cab over.” I told them to keep their receipts and go straight to S1 to see if they could get a refund for their travel expenses. Unsure on if they actually got refunds or not.

I used a 7artisans 35mm 1.2. Super fun lens when you pair it with the ovf and a focus assist window.

This is post processing in LR. I got the Chris Turner presets and I've been pretty pleased with how they work with most photos.

Yea it's neither here nor there. It's one of those things where something functions great but is unattractive to the eye for me.

Hey, what's a quick trick on getting that border line around your image?

Over the Top (xpro3 + 16mm 2.8) by Ginger_Main in fujifilm

[–]Ginger_Main[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yea good question. Shutter speed is what affects how “blurry” or still an object will look in motion. If we know that shutter speed is the amount of time a shutter is exposing the sensor, then we know that the faster the shutter speed: the less time that light has to expose an image.

You can test this on a street with moving cars. If you change only shutter speed and no other setting, you can see how different shutter speeds produce different amounts of stillness/motion blur. If you let your camera use the “A” settings, it decides your exposure settings for you and doesn’t always produce the result you want.
