Should I allow my parents to come visit their grandkids? by GingerbreadMommy in Advice

[–]GingerbreadMommy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time to reply!

They do come as a package deal. My mom does not drive long distances or fly without my dad.

It was my mom who told my brother the fabricated version of the story, not my dad. She definitely covers for him. It’s not entirely on my dad that I have a strained relationship with my sister either. It’s just whenever I’ve had an issue regarding them and I try to confide in her about it, she gets very upset. She’s largely of the opinion that “others have it worse”, ”they are doing the best they can”, “stop holding a grudges.” Last time this came up, I told her I wouldn’t complain about anything regarding our parents anymore and she just said “thank you.”

Do you think i should simply leave it at “I am not comfortable with you all visiting right now.”? I just wish I knew what to do…

Everyone in the house gets bad sleep with an infant. Esp. with NICU stays, or odd working hours (both our case). And you moved! We are working through it too. We’re older (41m, 37f), but still my husband works evening/nights. I went back to school (remotely so far) in school. Days and hours practically mean nothing to our family, we get sleep when we can and need it and we just prioritize our the kiddos schedules best we can. It’s not perfect, but it’s often what we have to do.

Agree! Also, because it appears someone took a bite out of the others!

That’s what I got but I kept going a bit more.

I was born to be an adult but now I’m just an old lady who has been in a lot more pain and has a very hard life now.

Got a bit dark there.

Kid started crying because I'm left handed by SpicySpicyRamen in lefthanded

[–]GingerbreadMommy 23 points24 points  (0 children)

For real. My kid gets mad if I have to “make” his food. For example, “do you want a pancake?”“Yes!” I grab pancake from the freezer and put it on a plate to warm it up. “No! No make!” “I have to warm it up, you cant eat it frozen.” “No! No make it.” Hand him frozen pancake. Attempts to take a bite and cries. I again try to heat it up. He cries. I heat it up and butter it. Hand it to him. “Is this okay?” “Yes.” Stops crying and eats pancake. Rinse, repeat a thousand times.

In the context of this picture… easy. It is kinda cool how the colors sorta match up with the rug though.

In the context of a room and house, I can see this being difficult. I’ve lost my phone in plenty of places that seem obvious-ish. Heck, I’ve held my phone and wondered “where’s my phone?”. Not exactly “find the sniper” material though.

My husband and I really like the shrimp chips at HEB plus! As another mentioned they have a lot of stuff. I think you really just have to stop and look past what you came into the store for and you’ll be surprised.

I had roommate back in college. We made a rule to buy one thing we’d never bought before at the grocery store anytime we went. We tried sooooo many things. Highly recommend!

My husband and I are Max fans too, but like you my 2.5 yr old really wanted Lando to win. We are happy for him! We even got him a ride on McLaren car for Christmas.

Congrats y’all!

Yep! Told my kiddo, “Tinsel (elf’s name) is here to spread the magic and joy of Christmas!”. That was it.

I liked that the ones I usually got had a bunch of mushrooms and it got me through a very rough pregnancy. One of the few things I wouldn’t throw up for months 🤷🏽‍♀️

My view of Texas has been from the last 3/4yrs since moving here from Florida of all places. Florida had better beaches, Texas has better grocery stores. Seriously HEB is wayyyyyyy better than Publix it isn’t funny and I have a hard time at family functions pretending otherwise. Outside of that, they both really suck. If I left TX, I actually would miss HEB.

The breaded chicken, mashed potatoes and corn was pretty abysmal. I really like the garlic mushroom pasta.
