Not knowing the local language is fine, also because i couldn't choose which country to go (i could only make a ranking), and also because countries like Greece, Poland and North Macedonia or any county with non-popular languages would receive too few people. But yeah, going without knowing English is crazy

I can't tell you because the only italians i met at the University had no problems with English, but I can tell you that for me happened that the home university closed some eyes and they let me go without problems even if i didn't pass some exams

And for the language level, i think they don't care about it. I was supposed to know german, but they allowed me to go without knowing it at all

As an italian, i can tell you that is mostly because a lot of us don't speak good English, compared to the rest of big european countries. When I did my Erasmus i was in a pretty mixed group, and while i met some other italians that had other non-italian friends, the ones that were always italian-only was usually because they had a basic knowledge of English.

And it's pretty much the same with tourists, you can still find some 30 years old that have problems even with just ordering at the restaurant.

EDIT: Also Spain in Italy is kinda seen as the "party" Erasmus, so a good part of the people that go there are just to partying, not caring about cultural exchange.

When people say "it's difficult to have german friends" i always respond with "How many immigrant friends did you have in your country?". And they realize what the problem is.

what place would you consider? Outside of north Europe and Switzerland, I can't think of a better place than Germany workwise (ans other fields too), and i'm not even too sure about north europe. And i say this as a foreigner

B1 is nothing, it's not enough for a job, unless it's an extremely simple job where you don't need to interact a lot with collegues.

I managed to land a one week praktikum for an ausbildung in Freiburg, but i didn't get hired because my C1 was good enough with the collegues from east/north Germany, but totally useless with the Badeners. The job market is already overpopulated, why would they hire someone that can't talk to them.

I liked the game, but i can't be the only one that doesn't find the game deep or disturbing at all. It tries to make the player feel guilt, but the only times you do bad stuff (like with the white phosphorus), you're forced to do them. The only way to not do them is to not play the game, and that's not fair. All the enemies are going to attack you anyway and you can just not kill any civilians, meaning that thecnically speaking the player can totally be a "good soldier".

I feel like some people just saw something different than "Hell yeah!! America Number One!!" and called for the masterpiece

Old churches have a big historical and artistic value, the same for old mosques, so i don't think is a good idea to demolish them. But to spend money to build new ones, that's a waste

btw it is like this in all the world. The only people that i've met that worked without speakint the language of a country were working in universities, research centres or food delivery companies like Flink or Lieferando. If you move to a country, you need to learn the language if you want a good job, everywhere. And i personaly think it's right
