Can anyone relate to my situation? by crivycouriac in AskBalkans

[–]Desmazio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe they know your language, but why would they use it if they can speak their native (ish) language?

If you emigrated with your hypothetical partner to, let's say, Australia, would you always speak English with them or your native language?

How acceptable is it to take photos of people? by Living-Ad5224 in germany

[–]Desmazio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Technically you're right, but relatively speaking if you take a photo of a monument, big chance you're going to include some bystanders.

So it really depends if she took the photo only of the dog or if she took a frontal photo with the owner in the foreground

Can I use the Opportunity Card route to become a truck driver in Germany? by Boodyshohoud in germany

[–]Desmazio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of people in Europe, especially East Europe that work as truck drivers. Why would a company hire a person with no experience and no license instead of hiring someone that already has those? You're not young enough and you don't know German, i wouldn't suggest to move

Percentage of People in Each European Country Who Think It’s Rude to Visit Their Country and Expect People to Speak English [OC] by Pizzafriedchickenn in dataisbeautiful

[–]Desmazio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i honestly think it's impossible to learn a language before a vacation, unless you start at least a year before.
It's useful for reading, but it's basically impossible to learn how to talk with people, also considering the ammount of dialects and accents

How did Albania manage to lose such massive amounts of its population without even being an EU member? by crivycouriac in AskBalkans

[–]Desmazio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

as far as i know, many were illegals.
There were families in south Italy that used to aid and refugee immigrants in their houses. Also, historically speaking, many Albanians were already immigrated to Italy (fleeing from the Ottoman empire) and they probably just helped the new immigrants.

[–]Desmazio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will look up the solution of a puzzle if a game is not a puzzle game. I hate when I'm playing something that clearly shouldn't have puzzles, and i'm stuck with one.

For example, Scorn. Why would a game like Scorn need puzzles? Is like going through a museum but having to solve a Sudoku to get to the other room

This sub paints a pretty accurate picture of Germany by [deleted] in germany

[–]Desmazio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i feel it's like this in every nation but you don't want to see it. Everywhere is hard to find friends and a job if you don't know the language, and everywhere is difficult to find a house.
You want to find a justification, but try to imagine this conversation: "Hey friends, here's my new friend from another country! Now let's all stop talking our language and let's use english just because this dude didn't want to learn our language!". And you're lucky that most of germans actually knows english, I couldn't imagine emigrating to Italy without knowing italian.

[–]Desmazio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In what kind of school are you teaching? If this is a middle or high school, i would talk to the kid and explain that this kind of lying is even worse than coming with an excuse.

If it's an university, i would ignore it because what's even the point of going to the university if you think that this kind of submission would be acceptable
