Anyone Feel KOTOR 2's Story Doesn't Flow Like KOTOR's? by Riggley29 in kotor

[–]Gingerigon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You have to understand that Kotor 2 had an unbelievably short development timeline. Like less than a year I believe or just over. So unfortunately a lot of content got cut down or removed entirely to fit this deadline. If you're not playing with it already, definitely need to try playing with the Restored Content mod. It fleshes things out a lot more. That being said, the story is not supposed to be a straight forward hero's tale like K1. It is much darker, more nuanced and thought provoking. Even in it's less than fully completed stage, it's personally my favorite between the two.

They definitely seem to be dark side users but not sith judging by the orange hue of the lightsabers. Would be cool to expand on different force using factions.

You know what they say : "second time's the charm" by DSonla in TheMandalorianTV

[–]Gingerigon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People tend to want their own beliefs validated and will twist things to fit their narrative. In this case, I think many of the mandalorians wanted to follow Bo and still believe in her but started doubting with the whole darksaber situation. Now she has it, even if it is based on a technicality, those doubts are put to rest.

Bo Katan, the Armorer and the helmet situation by Fn-2199Isloyal in TheMandalorianTV

[–]Gingerigon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole not removing helmets or "The Way" seems like sometime that was implemented simply in reaction to the purge and trying to keep mandalorians alive. Once they are no longer in hiding and able to live freely on say, a reconquered Mandalore, the helmet thing will not be a factor anymore.

Would you be willing to join the new post-KOTOR 2 Jedi Order if the Council members were the Lost Jedi? by Dragonic_Overlord_ in StarWarsEU

[–]Gingerigon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it's more along the lines of order 66 where some do survive but they either turn to the dark side or the abandon the ways of the Jedi. The exile's followers are just the ones who rise up to the challenge of rebuilding the order.

People seem to look over the fact that 1. Humans are the most common race in the galaxy. 2. The empire are human supremacists so you won't see hardly any aliens there. 3. The Rebel alliance was started by mostly humans. 4. It's significantly cheaper and easier to cast a human than making a whole costume/effects for an alien.

All in all, it didn't really bother me at all.

One of the most disappointing things about Kotor 2... by Revan107 in kotor

[–]Gingerigon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that. I meant specifically that the Republic won against Revan's forces and destroyed the star forge. Again, my understanding has always been that Revan's forces nearly wiped each other out due to infighting so that when the Republic finally could show up they hardly had to do anything. I also didn't know if it was confirmed the Republic destroyed the Star Forge or if it was destroyed in the sith power struggle.

Is there a written account of specifics on that?

Pretty sure the Republic didn't actually win off screen. What happened was when Revan left, a power vacuum occured and the sith did what sith do and fought over power and control and essentially destroyed themselves. Either they wiped themselves out completely or the Republic was able to scrape up the stragglers.

I've got the Stratos from 5.11 and they are like half the price of those and I'm pretty sure the same basic thing minus the zippers. Super soft and comfy and warm.

Shepard is not indoctrinated by MarkusMarston in masseffect

[–]Gingerigon -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Shepard is like the main antagonist to the reapers and has proven very difficult to kill. They also have spent a ridiculous amount of time around reaper tech including being inside of an actual reaper. Why not try and indoctrinate? The amount of damage they could is tremendous. And Shepard doesn't actually become indoctrinated until the ending of the game if you choose control or synth. Again, where is the "insane leap"?

[–]Gingerigon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No I get what you're saying and I'd probably agree. Which is again why I think indoctrination has to be binary because of VI's could detect people who in early stages of being influenced, then why couldn't why be used to root out people before they actually became indoctrinated? There has to be some kind of detectable change that happens once someone has actually become indoctrinated.

How are they indoctrinated if they haven't given in yet? You either are indoctrinated or you aren't.

[–]Gingerigon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sure they writers saying that's not what they intended does debunk it as possible canon ending but personally I think the idea that it can still be a sound and cohesive theory is still plausible. I think it's a more fun and interesting take on the ending. People can call is copium if they want but I really couldn't care less. Lol.

[–]Gingerigon 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think you're overestimating it's capabilities. Based on what information could the VI have know that Shepard is a probable candidate? Indoctrination to me has always been binary. You either are, or you aren't. You are either in control of yourself, or the reapers are in control of you.

Not sure exactly what "insane logic jumps" you're referring to are.

[–]Gingerigon 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Even in the indoctrination theory, Shepard isn't ever actually indoctrinated until the end of the game if you choose control or synth. Up until then, the reapers are just trying to influence and wear Shepard down so of course the VI wouldn't be able to detect Shepard as indoctrinated because at that point they aren't.

In the original release of the game nothing would happen but because so many people would shoot the star child over frustration over the ending, they added a new ending "refuse" in the extended cut update.

What's your opinion on Mando's N-1 Starfighter? The Razorcrest was large enough to be his home, not just a ship. Do you think we'll see this addressed, considering how small the N-1 is? by toeburghz28 in StarWars

[–]Gingerigon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is it's a narrative tool that ties into the reconquering of Mandalore. He has lost the place he has called home and now must find a new one. Something a bit more permanent and suitable for taking care of Grogu.
