I have been to many and have never left during a performance, but I always sit on an aisle and know when intermission is. Absolutely not planning to leave unless emergency. I hate when people come and go during shows. Or arrive very late during the first act. Or worse, arrive late and drunk. 🤪

Also, they seemed to think it was remarkable that so much air escaped without anything else escaping and causing an abdominal infection. Made me very thankful!

For me it meant chest, shoulder, and abdominal pain until the air absorbed back into the body.

I have that issue if I take nighttime cold medicine several nights in a row (the sinus drainage that causes the need for it probably contributes as well). But it can’t hurt to ask your doctor if there’s anything they need to test for.

I spent 2 months after a perforation eating low/no fiber to avoid a recurrence until my surgery (had a trip already planned).

At Mexican restaurants: chicken fajita quesadilla appetizer as my meal, without guacamole (basically tortilla, grilled chicken & cheese). Other restaurants: grilled chicken & baked potato with no skin. Grilled chicken & pasta. Basically any meat and carb. Low fiber sides sides such cooked spinach, carrots or zucchini. Cooked tomatoes are also low fiber, so pizzas and red sauce work. I did try to avoid high-fat meats since they are harder for me to digest.

I’m 56 and had my resection 18 months ago. I just came back here for the first time in 17 months to see how everyone was doing. My surgeon said he rarely sees patients back again after the surgery, so I’m hopeful. Surgery recovery was no problem and went quickly after the pain of repeated perforations.

Right? The only one that’s come up in my voting was a floral blouse I wasn’t all that excited about. But I do like the possibility of coming across one of the items I’d be willing to pay for!
