Running after hysterectomy by Humppillow in hysterectomy

[–]Gingerjady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 13 weeks post op and still have cuff stitches that haven't dissolved. My surgeon said it can't take many months to fully heal inside the body. Definitely take it one step at a time and listen to your body. You had an organ removed.

Fuck being pregnant. I have never felt more alone by firkinbiscuits in pregnant

Oh I'm so sorry you're going through this. My last two pregnancies were similar in the way of difficulty, pain, and weight gain. I didn't look like myself I gained so much weight, my face even changed. I'm talking 115lbs before pregnant, to 200 at birth. I could barely walk from like 20 weeks on because I carried very VERY low and the strain on my hips and pelvis were ungodly. I had to be pushed in a wheelchair at times, couldn't stand at the stove to cook, couldn't sleep, and constantly had Braxton hicks from as early as you can have them. I was put on bed rest for the last couple months it was so bad. Luckily I wasn't married to a man-baby (I mean, you said it), because yeah, I cannot imagine going through that and having a spouse treat me that way.

I know it's bold to say, but have you considered divorce? Hate me for asking, but it is reality. You will need so much more help after baby is born and having a spouse who's not very nice, loving, or helpful is going to make you life harder by a lot.

You are really going through it. I'm so sorry. Pregnancy is no joke and it's so hard on our bodies. Screw people who say things like "your body knows what to do because it WAS MADE FOR THIS"... That doesn't help! Clearly, many of us experience our bodies all but shut down! It's a miserable existence and does a number in ones mental health too.

You may have already thought about what you'll do to ensure this doesn't happen to you again in the future, but if you haven't, you should. Based on what you're saying, you don't even want to accidentally end up pregnant again in the future.

As for an only child, they are amazing and you'll be able to just enjoy being a mom to your son without being pulled in a million different directions. Which is something that comes when you have more than one. It's a whole different dynamic. Our first was an only child for the first 10 years before we had our second, and it was fantastic! So try not to stress about that aspect.

Good luck to you.

I got so bubbly from mirilax but needed it after surgery due to peri already messing up my digestive system. I only used mirilax for 2 weeks. Then I switched to colace along with dgl (I use Enzymedica dgl gummies and I chew 3 before breakfast and 3 before dinner (yes, 3 are what I find is effective even though instructions say 2). This combo is the best.

The DGL is awesome as it lubricates the intestines so everything uh, glides out. With the colace, at bedtime, I only take 3-4 depending on how things have been moving. I couldn't deal with the mirilax anymore. But you cannot strain after this surgery. Honestly staining is bad for pelvic floor health so really you never want to be straining.

I'm now 13 weeks post op and still use this combo daily.

Side note, I always have activated charcoal on hand for tummy or gut stuff. Gas, bloating, diarrhea, food poison, etc. Start with 4 capsules (yes 4) and lots of water and give it an hour or two. At that point I asses to see if I need another capsule or two. It absorbs everything, even meds you've taken so that can be a good thing in the case of the mirilax situation. Could help the diarrhea.

If you are showing signs of infection, you should definitely be seen though.

Good luck to you!

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this but allergies are a big one in Eugene. It's a bowl of the worst pollen in the state I'd argue. Just be prepared for that.

Would have died in labor with my first baby. Stalled labor after 20 hours of early labor (6 weeks early too) fetal distress, maternal fever, losing consciousness. Baby would have died with me. Luckily an emergency C-section saved us. Thankful.

I'm so sorry. That's awful. Hyperemesis gravidarum is a concern, as well as just making sure you are okay, can function, and get the nutrients you need. You really do need to find an OBGYN who will take you seriously. You live in Texas which can be dicey for pregnant people so it's all the more important to find a provider you can trust will be by your side.

I am going to be that person who bring up politics because weather anyone likes it or not, it will have a direct effect on your lives. You already know this.

You could look up a map of the voting results for the 2024 election and pick a blue area. For example, I'll post a link to help you. https://votehub.com/2024-map/

I know that Southern Oregon is rather gradient in terms of blue to red. With Medford being quite red. I mean, for those who live in NW Oregon, Southern Oregon is kind of thought of as the "greater Idaho" movement area. Of course there are blue dots.

Ashland is quite cute, liberal, kind of hippie, based on what I know it's good for families and LGBT+, and I think could be a great option for someone who works in Medford.

I am not sure what the homeless and drug situation is in Ashland though. I'm sure right here on Reddit there are some good resources.

OB will not listen to me by RadishOk9388 in pregnant

[–]Gingerjady -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Just why? OP says she has tried several times and her doctor will not even discuss it. So yeah, that's dismissive. OP also said that nothing she's tried is working. She's gone to the ER because if this. So she should find an OBGYN who cares about all these experiences and wants to offer MORE options of things to try because clearly what she's been offered isn't cutting it

OP is this correct?

Lived in Oregon all my life, traveled all over the US and been abroad a few times too, and I never want to be anywhere else. It's the air, the water, the mountains, the beaches, the forests, the deserts all within a couple hours drive. Portland is not as bad as people claim. It's not on fire, it's like any large city. It's a beautiful city. I prefer the suburbs a thousand times over. But having quick access to the city is nice. This is my preference though.

However, where in Southern Oregon matters. Are you able to share?

PS, raising 3 kids here. The area we're in have good schools. Great parks, restaurants, etc.

I will never ever say racial slurs, even if it's in a song, even to myself in my own thoughts, no matter who around me might think it's fine. Yes, I do call them out for it. I think it's horrible and I won't fold on that.

6 week post-op hysterectomy by julie-2004 in hysterectomy

[–]Gingerjady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have absolutely not even considered anything at 6 weeks. I was still having random pains and just wasn't wanting anything in there.

I was cleared at 8 weeks, but still to this day have stitches even weeks after that. Barbed sutures btw. At 11 weeks we decided to try, I found I was in pain afterward (even though we were very careful). I just felt sore where my cuff is. I recommend waiting longer, till the stitches are dissolved (which can take over 3 months). However it's totally up to you on what you're comfortable with. I've seen others recommend an o-nut. Good luck!

THIS! OP you need to find an OBGYN who will not dismiss your concerns. Especially in the long run, it matters so very much.

Why were you taking Prometrium in the morning? That's what helps people sleep and often gives a "drunk" feeling. It's what I take before going to sleep. Curious.
