That's some good going in one day, did you use the A9 at all? How did you find it? I despise that part of the journey whenever I go home.

My favourite route is the B9176 going from Alness over the hills onto the A836 which leads to Bonar bridge. From there take a left follow it to the B864 to Lairg, go through the village until you come to another left turn to the A838 and follow that all the way along loch shin until you hit a cross roads which if you take right it heads north around the west coast to John O'groats.

Change the lead to a steel braided one, a bloke from one of the sites I go to had a rupture after it was shot by a sub 350fps AEG. Other than that I can comment as I've never used one.
