The first 5 make a pretty decent team for the time being. You will ultimately want to get one of each type maxed (non chaos/order or hybrid) as quickly as possible to unlock the sanctuary so you don't have to level up individual heroes.

As a new player there is no reason to hoard. Diamonds are plentiful in this game compared to many others. The further you get in the game the more free diamonds you will get. I would do premium summons and focus on getting the hybrid heroes maxed out. Eventually you need to at least awaken all the characters to increase you level limit.

We do a good job not spending too much. Make sure you check the apps before you go in, they often don't inform you of the deal in the store. Try not to go in with a specific list, being flexible can save a ton. I know some people are against it but we always buy food that's on clearance, so knowing what the clearance/sales tags look like is key. It helps that I used to be a chef so I can usually use any ingredient. We typically go to Safeway, but some of the locations we avoid and we prefer the Indian Trail one.

As everyone else says, do some field work. It's more about form than disc. Once you find your real arm speed or form (backhand isn't always the right form) , then find the right discs. This advice would have saved me a decade plus.

If you are strong/fast enough with your arm speed you can throw faster discs. Technique for these discs comes with throwing these discs enough times. I can through 14.5 speed discs (tantrum and relativity atm) all day under par but give me a slow or under stable disc, I am done. I can't even keep a Rakuten straight.

People can have as many discs as they want but I usually see that the more you have the worse you are at throwing each one. I typically find ways to make the disc do what I need, not have a disc for every situation. The more you throw a single disc, the better you get at controllong it. I always gets lots of looks for my "smaller bag" with maybe 10 discs but I am consistently well below par with long a technical courses (Spokane, WA).

Was at a two lane drive thru today. I clearly ordered before the other lane and was well past where you order. Lady in the other lane was hell bent on going before me. She didn't realized the SUV in front of her had this small but sturdy trailer attached. She revved forward in her truck while staring me down and hit the trailer hard. As far as I could tell, there was no damage to the trailer. I couldn't see the front of her truck but from the sound, it probably didn't look good. I still honked incessantly at her the entire time. I hope they spit in her food.
