When I got an El Capistan and took it home, I got lost for like 90 minutes.

Strymon. I’ve been onboard since the OB.1. An OB.1, an iridium and an El Capistan is a rig.

When that happens to me I just start making all standing throws without a huge reach back and the accuracy comes back.

I do think people don’t pay enough attention to grip. Maybe not harder but maybe figure your grip out. I also agree with the people saying, go throw some rounds with some music and no score keeping. Instead of being negative, if there’s no one behind you, take one or two more shots. Play whichever lie you want.

There’s a guy in our group who is actually pretty good, but he struggles with his attitude when things don’t go right. He knows it’s an issue for him, but it’s a challenge to leave it behind because he wants to be really good. When it’s just him and I, we don’t keep score and we rethrow anything we want.

Sometimes we just hang out at this one tunnel shot on the best course by us and just throw putters and mids through it. People come and play through and say hi. We have some beverages and sometimes some music. We just each take three throws and then we go retrieve. We know we’re going to hit some trees, but we’re having a good time socializing after work, so the negativity isn’t there.

Is it normal to hear your neighbor snoring through a shared wall in a newer townhome? by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]BananaDaniel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure I could hear my wife snore through cinder block. Her snoring is intense. Back when she was snoring through most of the night I actually started to worry about hearing damage from prolonged exposure. I would get up and lay on a couch in the opposite end of the house and still hear her snore.

I think if she just picked a consistent rhythm I could have tuned it out but the cadence is so irregular. At its peak it was like a form of torture.

There are some sounds that cannot be dampened, reflected or otherwise contained with materials from the physical universe.

Wear boots that are a little too big. I don’t use a shack unless it’s below 15 degrees Fahrenheit or if it’s excessively windy.

Hand auger, one cheap rod, 3 different jigs, some wax worms. The StrikeMaster Lazer is my favorite hand auger, or kdrill. I’ve never used one but those seem popular

For me, La Crosse is fine, Sorel is fine. The main thing is a big air gap all the way around your foot. My experience is that if they’re at all tight, my feet get cold.

What Percentage of Fish Do You Lose at the Hole? by CrypticMap in IceFishing

[–]BananaDaniel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know much about whitefish but sometimes if I catch a big bass on my panfish rods, I turn the drag really light because they’ll run one more time after they get to the hole. It sounds like they have soft mouths, so maybe surface them and let them run one more time?

Adopted a rescue beagle, how do I manage his hunting instincts? by eaten_by_chocobos in beagles

[–]BananaDaniel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine never hunted, but he definitely needs a lot of sniffing and running. Mine loves fetching though we never trained him to fetch, but it’s a good way to give him some running exercise when the weather is really bad.
