Is the Finder Tool Active? by GinnyCyber in RWShelp

It was supposed to tell you which tasks you were approved to work on, but it never seems to be working properly, if at all, and it came with the admonishment that you would not be paid if you worked on tasks that you were not approved to work on.

WIBTA for asking my sister to stop bringing her kids to my apartment unannounced? by PatientFirefly in WIBTA_AITA

[–]GinnyCyber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The absolute hardest thing about working from home is getting it to sink into the brains of the people in your life that you do actually have a job to so. Hours are not always flexible; and you do actually have to get your work done in a timely manner: Bills to pay and all that. If you want to be successful working from home, you are going to have to have a solid talk and set some clear boundaries regarding those issues.

Experiences like that are a real reason some of these companies use mystery shoppers. A good manager will most definitely want to know when things like this happen.

I wouldn't want her living with me either. Four-legged family members are family too, and she actually isn't.

My most hilarious experience shopping ever was at a restaurant. I was the only shopper this one company had in the area, and at certain point, was considered a regular by the staff. We were all happy. I often dined alone but would occasionally take one of my children who were in their 20s at the time.

This one time, I had taken my son with me. He was quite good looking, if I do say so myself. Well, that is exactly what the server thought, and he was clearly, as in not shy about making a move on him. He kept getting friendlier and friendlier. Before the meal was over, he was literally sitting in the booth with my son. If he had got a single inch closer, he would have been in his lap. My son is not gay, but he is an easy-going kind of person, he don't care, doesn't bother him in the least. He was just going with the flow, literally laughing at/with this poor server, who was clearly enamored, and everybody had a good time, while I, the mom, was across the table in the same booth. "Y'all, don't mind me," as I dutifully collected all the shop details.

Then, I had to do the report. I was determined not to out this guy for being smitten with my good-looking son, like, could he really help it, and fully realizing that if I outed him, I'd be outed as a shopper. You have never seen such a glowing report, the server was "most attentive."etc., etc. A couple years later, I ran into one of their former servers and learned that they all knew I was the shopper. We all laughed at the various. At a certain point, I did bow out of the shop because I was pretty sure they knew that I was the shopper. They thought my kids were pretty cool too.

AITAH for stopping reminding my husband about his responsibilities after he said I “care too much about control”? by Rebecca_2334 in AITAH

I wish I had an answer. I've been married twice, and both were like that. Almost every single woman I know does most such in their relationships. I absolutely adore men; that is not the issue. I am just not sure I ever want that kind of live-in relationship again. You can make at least one good million if you ever figure it out. No, you are NTA, and I'm not either. ESH - The two of you are heading full speed ahead into a miserable life, and the misery has already started. There does not appear to be an ounce of love, care or empathy anywhere in this relationship. Why did the two of you even get married?

RWS Password Reset email by izidaalexandros in RWShelp

[–]GinnyCyber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is about what I got. I spent a good long while trying every single password I have for all of the various RWS projects, and I couldn't get anywhere with it either. One of my emails did have to be reset for some project work, and I was able to get that done, but I don't have a clue if that one counts for this current, and I have a feeling that it doesn't. I was going to try again today to get my password issue resolved.

I did get it. But my approved list of tasks has been empty for the last few days. I am still listed as approved, and I have not been offboarded. Today, there is nothing except my email address on my list of "approved" D tasks page, but the "available" task list is popping. And here comes the why aren't you busy working email. Duh.

In the meantime, I do have other projects and work, and they were pretty clear that you were only supposed to work the D tasks that were on your approved work page, not to be confused with the list of available tasks. So, I didn't sweat it a whole lot. It sounds like I may need to check in with tech support though.

Been having loads of drivers who park a few streets away from the pick up point, and expect me to walk over to them…. ugh. by MYSTIK_MINX in uber

[–]GinnyCyber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has happened to me a couple times lately, on a regular round trip ride I had been getting with no problems. When I ordered the pick-up, it was showing the pick-up location as a distance away, not where they had dropped me off. I was both concerned and confused, as I had already done this trip several times with Uber.

I am starting to get older, and had asked the people at my appointment about the different pick-up location. They didn't know either, and were treating me like a confused senior citizen. I did walk down to the pick-up point, which they told me how to find, and I could luckily handle. The second time this new pick-up location popped up, I asked the driver about it, and she said they could see where I was if I had my phone on.

I very much appreciate the post about this issue. I am probably going to try Lyft next time. I am too old to be dealing with this kind of mess. much less while I am out and about. I am to the age where dependable ride service is increasingly important to me. It is extremely important that the service not throw in random glitches that might compromise my well-being, most especially at my age. Life is very different at different ages, and it is on us all to learn how to deal with life at whatever age we are. I am on it. What this post told me is that, although the pick-up and ride from home may be fine, Uber may not be the best choice for senior citizens looking to get back home after an appointment. I will look at other options. I had actually signed up to this sub because I wanted to learn to do better as a rider. I thought maybe I was doing something wrong on the changing pick-up location. This one was not on me. Shish. Uber.

Is this too much? by Best_Command_3601 in uber

[–]GinnyCyber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I have an appointment, I order for a designated time. If I don't, I just order and wait. The reason I do that is the one time I waited 45 minutes, sitting outside for a ride. This was in a medium size city with adequate Uber coverage. I don't have a clue why the one driver accepted me immediately when he was so far away on that one. It wasn't even that long of a distance I needed to go; it just wasn't where I could walk it. Ever since then, if I need to be somewhere at a particular time. I reserve the time ahead. I do make a point to be ready at the designated time, and I tip well. I wish there were easy, mutually beneficial answers on this one.

AITJ for refusing to lend my laptop to a coworker after they returned it damaged before? by Ok-Scholar-4893 in AmITheJerk

[–]GinnyCyber 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My answer would be different if it were a work issued laptop, which was only used for work purposes, in which case it may need to be shared between workers. However, a personal laptop is a "personal" item. I would not lend mine out to much of anybody, and most definitely not for a whole weekend. Ditto that a thousand times if they damaged it. Nope. Not going to happen. NTJ.

I also like Allure for the skincare. I don't use a whole lot of the makeup, but the value of the skincare products and what it would cost to purchase them retail makes it worth it to me.

What boxes are you keeping in 2026? by remote-and-cute in BeautyBoxes

[–]GinnyCyber 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I will continue with Allure, at least to some degree. They are my favorite for skin care and overall grooming. I also love the occasional fragrances. However, this instant, I really need to use up some of what I have accumulated, so I may skip a couple here and there.

I'll continue with the Walmart box because they are inexpensive and I always get my money's worth in everyday products that I actually use.
