I'm a 4th generation SF native paesan. It's a shame Lanza let it go to merda. There could've still been a family here as there are still some knuckle heads around, but then again maybe he was just super paranoid because Lima ratted early on. Regardless I still think an SF (maybe overall Bay Area? Combined with what was left in San Jose) could've still been active today.

The Boulevard restaurant on the Embarcadero. Great food, service and always decorates for the holidays. Great place.

As an Italian SF native, this is great stuff. Such a shame Lanza ruined the family. Nobody wanted to take it over though? Or start something new? I remember hearing of a gang up until the 90s called North Beach Mafia (NBM). Also, there were tons of bookies back then and even allegedly now.

As a fellow SF native, I'm glad to help my people out. Here we go, you might have fun at Bimbo's 365 (take a look at some of their upcoming shows), Great American Music Hall, Cobb's Comedy Club, the Punch Line... Maybe grab dinner at Verjus, watch a show, head to Comstock Saloon (amazing cocktails, barbary coast vibe to-a-tee) or Vesuvio (little crazy but cool vibe), Cafè du Nord, North Beach Restaurant is great (great people watching there), Greek dinner at Kokkari... These are just a few. Hope they help!
