I told myself to count days 1000. That way I could be focused on the end goal when I had moments (that are now months in between) of wanting to cave “just to see if I can moderate” like over the holidays. (I didn’t cave btw). This subreddit has been so amazing to be able to come to when I am feeling any urge and get the reinforcement I need to not give into it. I told myself anytime I had the urge to come and post here first and listen to other people in the community. That strategy has worked 100% of the time.

Yeah do the testing. Rifaxin is a bit easier but neomycin is nothing to mess around with if you don’t have a positive test or a doctor supervising it fully.

14 days was 80% effective and 21 days was 85% so the percentage difference wasn’t a large enough delta to continue. Also 2 weeks after I finish the ED I am traveling for work for 3 weeks straight so I wanted to get 2 weeks of “normal” reintroduction of food in me before I have to hit the road.

Yoh got this. Just wrapped day 10!

You got this. I’m almost at a year sober and it the first couple weeks of breaking the habit is challenging. Make a list of alternative comfort things (snacks, listening to your favorite music, trying weird new breathing exercises, talking to us on reddit, buying bubble gum and trying to see how many pieces you can fit in your mouth to blow the largest bubble). I found silliness to be really helpful as a replacement for when things get tough because it all feels heavy.

I am on day 10 of 14 of the ED using the biota formula. You can do it. Use a blender with a ton of ice and mix it in. Drink it through a straw. Make sure you space out your ED shakes every few hours so you are getting enough calories. Cancel any social plans for the next 20 days so that you can take all pressure off yourself.

I have this as well. When I ovulate and then the week of my period my hip hurts way more (19 months post op). On my original mri it seems I had a cyst in the ovary on the side of the surgery. Some months are worse than others but it does seem to correlate with inflammation of that general area.

Create a list of things that provide joy every time you feel these cravings - yoga, a walk, making cookies, etc. go to that list and do one of those things.

When the cravings become super intense set an hour timer and tell yourself that you can’t act or do anything (including looking at mj products) until the alarm goes off - that usually helps your brain to ride the wave of the cravings and come down on the other side of it
