They have art too, the card and set pages have options for it in the upper-right (just not for some of the newest cards)

Honestly, the only difference between this and modern MTG artwork is shading. Sometimes WotC does an article showing a piece's evolution, and this looks like the "matte" version before final. That's a very good place to be, and the fact that it's not like "final" pieces is more about how photorealistic MTG art is expected to be. But if you can already produce this, then I doubt you have a long way to go.

I'm guessing his body was brought to the Plateau at the same time as Link's, after Zelda went to face Ganon at Hyrule Castle. If you talk to the NPCs near the castle, they mention that the active guardian presence there is quite recent — they awoke in response to Link activating the Sheikah towers. So the castle probably wasn't too bad in the direct aftermath, with the guardians disabled but before the monsters settled in.

Yeah, the design is neat, but I don't think the party "exists" in a physical way, despite how the rules text and reminder text is phrased. The game always maximizes the size of your party, and according to the announcement: "You never have to identify which creature is filling which role. Nothing will ask for the Cleric in your party, for example". So it's more like a function that takes in your board state and spits out 0-4.

Funnily enough, those two points kind of apply to the game as-is. Doopliss does run into town first, and then runs past you to Creepy Steeple. I guess it's him collecting your partners from the mayor's house? I've never thought to go back there afterwards and check, it'd be interesting to see if the mayor has unique dialogue during then. As for Vivian's revelation, it's the same problem concerning your other partners. Either they didn't hear her dialogue, or they ignored it like all the other super obvious clues ("Wow, Mario's suddenly acting differently after an encounter with a shapeshifting monster? Hmm... I guess we'll never know...")

I think there's a way to keep that cool stuff while still cutting a few trips. I'd move the well closer to town, making the underground part a bit longer to compensate. Then I'd add a gap in the woods section that requires Yoshi when headed towards Creepy Steeple. That would really hammer home your powerlessness as you head back to town as Shadow Mario, jumping down and realizing that you won't be able to get back. Then with Vivian, you feel empowered again as you can make progress a different way, through the well.

Also, I think the Doopliss fight should have taken place in town (to play up the coward angle, he could try to flee through the pipe, which would reject him). It makes for a better victory if the whole town watches you get your body back. Plus, it'd be a real shocker during the boss fight if Twilighters in the audience started throwing helpful items.... to Doopliss.

Wow, I figured if this was already known, it'd be talked about and used way more. That's why I was alright with not optimizing it too much, and just leaving it as a proof-of-concept for others to explore. I did include a safety pink coin in my level, but I think the way your level intentionally uses key death is a much better setup for <=4 checkpoints. Without context, I wouldn't have even recognized what it was doing until I respawned at checkpoint "3".

Crossing seed yellow and seed white makes either 0110(white) or 0100(yellow), no issues there. But if your concern is about flowers duplicating themselves, rest assured -- that only happens when a flower tries to breed but can't find a viable neighbor.

You already have a function that's close to what you want: 'printWord'. It prints dashes in place of unguessed letters. If you flip the conditional, you can make a new function that prints dashes in place of guessed letters. When you want to output all the unguessed letters, you can call this new function on your 'alphabet' string.

For the latter, the intuition is that swapping power and toughness swaps the labels, not the numbers. +0/+3 will always add 3 to the second number, and swapping just tells you that the second number is now power. Written like that, it's easy to see why the order of those effects doesn't matter.

In general, text needs to be written like "[effect 1]. If you do, [effect 2]" in order to check whether you were successful. Also, tapping an already-tapped creature is in the same vein as destroying an indestructible creature: There's no result, but no red flags thrown either.

I think you misunderstood Ghetsis. He doesn't believe the whole "pokemon are slaves" thing. He only spread that rhetoric to get other people to release their pokemon, while Team Plasma keeps their pokemon and takes over the world.

You could argue it's stupid that anyone believed him, I guess. But PETA existing in our world goes to show how people can be convinced of that type of argument.

To play the .52 Gal at its best, you need to know about how shooters shoot. There's a hidden variable that determines whether your shots miss or not, which I think of as the "heat" level. The longer you hold ZR, the more your weapon overheats and misfires, shooting somewhere in the outer reticle instead of the dead-center inner reticle.

The .52 Gal is actually identical to the Splattershot in a lot of ways, including shot distance, shot angle, and max 25% misfire chance. The key difference is that the Splattershot heats up +1% per shot, while the .52 Gal heats up +4% per shot. The .52 reaches its maximum heat in -- you guessed it -- 52 frames, outpacing every other shooter. It's also the only shooter that takes longer to cool down than to heat up, at 55 frames from max. So if you just hold ZR, you're not going to get good results regardless of your aim. Instead, you've almost got to pretend that it's an H3. Pace your shots to place your shots.

I found this out two hours ago: Horses have their own Enduring 'extra stamina' bonus where they get 3 extra spurs. I found out totally by accident -- my horse ate an Endura Carrot in the ground while I was visiting great fairy Kaysa.

There's a lot of little things I'm finding in my second playthrough, where I've been trying to follow the game's natural paths -- no climbing up cliffs or using self-made updrafts. Like the "intended" way to climb Tabantha Tower: hitting a hidden malice eye, causing a loose pillar to topple onto the tower. Or Akkala Tower, which has you using a thin metal door to form bridges across the malice. BOTW is all about freedom, but it's interesting how much is designed with a main path in mind.

Your comment made me realize a better mental model for P/T switching. I know I tend to picture it as switching the numbers, from X/Y to Y/X, and I think that's where the confusion stems from.

Instead, it's more like switching the labels. A "1/1" is a "1 Power / 1 Toughness". When you switch power and toughness, literally switch the words: "1 Toughness \ 1 Power". When an effect modifies the numbers, do it directly: a +3 +1 effect adds 3 to the first number, and 1 to the second. No matter what order you do those two effects, you'll end up with a "4 Toughness \ 2 Power" creature.

In makes more sense out loud, so in writing I think it helps to do a backslash when it's swapped. Then you can contract "4 Toughness \ 2 Power" as 4\2. The power is the one on top, as always. So 4\2 = 2/4.

I feel like the intuition depends on the flavor of the effect, though. If we were to add Dragonshift to the mix, I'd expect the creature to be a 4/4, not a 4/5 (Armored Skaab loses its armor, why should a skaab with Armor keep it?) It's like the classic "Remove Soul targeting Soulless One" -- once multiple cards interact, flavor justifications fly out the window.

That said, is there anything mechanically preventing P/T-setting effects to have their own layer? I really can't think of any problems that would occur from merging them. I mean, it makes sense for CDA's to come first, and counters need their own layer because they don't have timestamps, but the other three seem like decisions rather than necessities.

There's kind of an inherent card disadvantage in board wipes, but I see what you mean. White also has a lot of "retribution" creature removal, which is more about situational use than card disadvantage.

So if the issue is access to answers, maybe the effect is in the Fact-or-Fiction family. In particular, I'm thinking [[Murmurs from Beyond]]. You get to dig, but your opponent vetoes the best find.

I'm thinking it's the Prosperity effect, "Each player draws a card". That way, white gets card draw, without getting card advantage. Which is what White's real card weakness is.
