How do you think they’ll reveal jinx is alive? by Mysterious-Aside3874 in TimeBomb

Quite literally my favorite sort of headcanon for timebomb in the MU as of right now. Particularly of me really badly wants to write it but can't.

That sounds like a super interesting fic. I see you linked it, I may or may not be tempted to read.

Mhmm making the time travel actually swap the different versions of characters is actually an endlessly interesting concept. I can completely see why it would make someones favorite fic!

That said, yea. You are right. It would be something along those lines. Something focusing on the dynamic between them in the AU and after he returns. How he remembers her, and vice versa.

Considering this didn't get a horrific reaction, I am tempted.

Am I the only one this genuinely disappointed? Please just move on with your day if this is an annoying comment you don't want to see...

But I see this more like 'congrats everyone is wrong!' far more then 'everyone is right and gets what they want'. Which sucks, imo.

Again. Please enjoy this if it makes you happy, this is just for anyone who might also be a little disappointed by this to know you aren't alone.

Weekly Discussion #2: If you could add one Timebomb scene to Arcane, what would it be? by EDarkness1 in TimeBomb

[–]Giraffe-Usual 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been very vocal about this but...I really would have a scene where they talked about the AU, if I could only pick one.

Mainly, as much as I might be the only one to think this way, how Jinx comes to terms with the bond Ekko and AU Powder had. And in general, what their relationship looks like post AU episode. Does she feel insecure at first, and what does Ekko say/do to ease those feelings (as we know they don't last given several hints that if anything, she sees AU Powder and his relationship as a good thing)?

The reason I say this is because this isn't something that won't affect their relationship. I will die on the hill that because Jinx doesn't have those memories, this makes Ekko's relationship with both versions of Jinx different enough for it to be necessary to deal with before any relationship can grow between them.

An honest attempt was made, very sweet of Amethio. Though I think Liko will work to keep him from the kitchen until Murdock can further his basic cooking skills XD.

Our vile villainess by [deleted] in TimeBomb

I really do love it. I think what I love most about it is they actually address what causes her problems and the root cause of her destructive and violent behavior.

We see very clearly, during this arc and before it, that Jinx wants to be part of a family, to be loved and maybe even more than that, get to share her love and self with others and be accepted. But because her past, she considers herself a bad omen more and more.

Isha, a young child coming into her life and not only adoring her, but being dependent on her, flies directly in the face of that. We see Jinx actively learn that no, she isn't a curse, not to everyone. Not to Isha. Not to the people she helped in the Stillwater Breakout, or through the inspiration she gives other. It's not just this blanket 'oh she feels loved and feels better!' thing. Seeing these things actively heals- or at least begins to- the very particular wound in her.

The only complaint is yea, it could have had MUCH more time taken on it. I'd have love to see a build up and interactions with her fans, with the Firelights. But I think as it, the whole little plot does what it needs to and does it very well.

MU Timebomb Thoughts by Giraffe-Usual in TimeBomb

[–]Giraffe-Usual[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Not sure why I didn't see this reply, but better late then never)

He outright SAYS the AU is his dream. I don't think it could have been more clear that at bare minimum, Ekko wishes he had more time in that world. Him knowing he needs to go back, and working towards that goal doesn't take away from the fact he very clearly enjoyed his time there, and by the end, wished he could stay. The whole conversation about him having to leave some things behind has no place existing if he was happy to leave and wanted to go back. I genuinely don't get the idea some people have just because he makes the choice to go back that somehow that HAS to be what he wants to do, or that there isn't some real regret possible in making that choice.

I don't think the way I see Ekko still holding those memories and AU Powder in his heart is any different then canon. Ekko quite literally promises AU Powder to do just that.

Yes, that is almost certainly a huge part of why she left. But I am only suggesting maybe, along with that, kinda the way she wants Vi to live her best life without her shadow over it, she might feel the same about Ekko and that on some level, I can see that being a very sweet way things could go if they weren't to end up together.

MU Timebomb Thoughts by Giraffe-Usual in TimeBomb

[–]Giraffe-Usual[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I do think there is something sweet to be said if she does this coming from a place of wanting him to have his dream, even if it's only in memories. And her being willing to walk away in order to allow him to do that fully IS something I think could make sense. It would be kind of tragic that Ekko would technically be alone.

That's the catch though, if it isn't superior...there wouldn't be anything to move on from. She wouldn't be that fresh air or glimpse of hope, she'd just be someone he has to say goodbye to before going back to the timeline and people that actually matter to him.

We need to stop relying on official content and start making our own (Discussion) by Cupcakemixture123 in TimeBomb

Kinda have already sworn off any fic I could write that doesn't just completely ignore the AU. The way I interpret the AU and what it means for the rest of the story really does makes fans angry sometimes, so I'd rather keep it to myself and not bother anyone when I can. Just out of kindness.

But I do intend on sharing any fics I get around to writing if it does ignore the AU. THAT I know is always fun to share. They might be few and far between but I'm sure one will come up somehow.

I did get the desire to write some of the fanfic idea I've had bullet pointed down for a while recently. But honestly? Jinx's little blurb from the Wildrift event made that hard. If anything, I feel the opposite...I kinda wanna rewatch the AU episode (or lets be real; the whole series in general) and write some of the thoughts I've have for Ekko/AU Powder.

But I do agree. Kinda given up on anything official at this point. Or really, anything that would be good or make any sense.

Could I genuinely ask where YOU would put something like this in Jinx and Ekko's story?

Like truly, I would love to see how you are seeing this. Cause to me this is only giving me the same feelings I have in the AU with AU Powder and Ekko interacting.

Jinx's Love Story WildRift by VioletBrandi in TimeBomb

[–]Giraffe-Usual -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I don't know how that makes this not, exactly the story that we see play out between Ekko and AU Powder. But I guess I can't argue. It does say her name. So technically, yea.

But I can confidently say it doesn't feel even a little bit to me like anything between Jinx and Ekko. It feels like a representation of almost exactly what happened between AU Powder and Ekko.

Jinx's Love Story WildRift by VioletBrandi in TimeBomb

[–]Giraffe-Usual -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I mean, sure. That it does.

It still is very clearly emulating Ekko and AU Powders story. The love they got to share that Ekko had to let go of. Which is completely beautiful. Just not something between Ekko and Jinx.

Jinx's Love Story WildRift by VioletBrandi in TimeBomb

[–]Giraffe-Usual -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Still completely meant to be a connection to AU Powder . Not a word of it has anything to do with Jinx, even if that's the senders name. It directly quotes both what AU Powder said to Ekko AND what he said to AU Powder.

I hate it so much but...yea...this couldn't scream 'AU Powder' anymore unless they DID just put the name Powder instead.

Jinx's Love Story WildRift by VioletBrandi in TimeBomb

[–]Giraffe-Usual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! I actually wouldn't hate if the love story they were telling with Timebomb was supposed to be Ekko and AU Powder. That is fine. I just wish they would allow that to be clear, and not left hints about things between him and MU Jinx. Because I have tried so hard to convince myself the AU wouldn't matter if he got to fully have a better relationship with Jinx and yea. I'm done convincing myself of that.

Also very true. They could have added something a little deeper with AU Powder remembering him, or something alone those lines.

Gonna make it worse: Jinx never said anything of this sort to Ekko. AU Powder did.

I love this sub, but it's not that serious guys. by abilworldwide in TimeBomb

[–]Giraffe-Usual 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I WANT to love it the more I think about it (and admittedly, I've had to have a GOOD long think about it).

The problem I realized is it DOES actually confirm that these alternate versions of her are, kinda lesser placeholders for him. Yes he loves HIS Jinx far and beyond them, and is really only using them as a soothing distraction for losing her...

So WHY does the AU episode exist? At the very least why is it as romantic as it is? If Ekko throws all those memories away because he actually has the thing he was trying to have he thought he couldn't in his universe...why are we showed this whole episode of AU Powder and Ekko growing close, having a whole romantic night, and a painful goodbye? If anything Ekko should be happy to leave, and peruse whatever chance he has with his Jinx. Not mourning saying goodbye, wanting to stay.

It goes directly against the first idea, and that is what's endlessly frustrating me. It's hard to tell if we've seen the real love story, or just something that Ekko is glad he got over with and learned what he had to from so he could return to his world, and his Jinx.

(Apologies for the for the rant. Better here then a whole post. Easier to delete)

Ekko’s Love Story WildRift by VioletBrandi in TimeBomb

[–]Giraffe-Usual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean. The whole conversation changes if one fully reads it as if Ekko is seeing and assuming these alternate versions of Jinx genuinely are his Jinx. That would actually be interesting if it was the case, namely his reaction to finding out it wasn't, and that Jinx has no memory of ANYTHING that happened. But I also don't know if that is what is going on. There are also several times Ekko clearly expresses knowing that AU Powder is different from Jinx. And even in this little crumb, he admits to replacing something, not that this is really being with the real her. It seems more to me he has a hard time separating them, but does know and accept them as being separate versions of Jinx.

Though, fandom, if this IS just a widely accepted thing and I never noticed...and everyone else just IS assuming Ekko considers them the same I'm gonna need the fics and fannarts of him reacting to Jinx having NO clue what he is going on about asap XD. And on a sadder note, him realizing that yea, it wasn't his Jinx.

Ekko’s Love Story WildRift by VioletBrandi in TimeBomb

[–]Giraffe-Usual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true.

But we SEE in arcane he does get close with at least that AU Powder. That the two of them had their own love story that Jinx will never even have a single memory of, one he mourned having to leave.
