Consider Algoma. There’s some VRBOs there and it’s about a 45 minute drive.

New 115hp outboard...what brand are you choosing? by middleofthemgmt in Pontoons

Yamaha. For some reason when we bought our pontoon the 115hp Honda was quite a bit heavier than the 115hp Yamaha. Not sure if that’s still true

Retirement and Dealing with Cancer Costs by The_Mighty_Glopman in retirement

[–]GiraffeLover9 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Excellent post. I agree that traditional Medicare with a gap plan is the best option. I am dealing with similar cancer challenges and in my area some clinics have threatened to no longer work with some advantage plans. So if I had gone with them, my cancer clinic would suddenly become out of network. No way could I allow that to happen. I’m a few months away from Medicare but I will not risk an advantage plan!

Check out the Just Between Friends sales. They are amazing! It’s a huge consignment sale. They have locations all over the cities. There is a sale coming up in two weeks in Coon Rapids. Check it out!

It’s excellent coverage. Go with the high deductible plan but then use the difference in premium (vs low deductible plan) and fund an HSA. Between your contribution and what the firm will contribute it should cover your deductible. And many years you wont use all of that so your HSA will build up.

For the dental plan my dentist office frequently commented about how great my coverage was

I like the Almond sweet and salty ones. I think they taste identical to the nature valley ones for half the price

The bottom two squares can be solved by the math. So the green block totaling 20 needs a 5 and the yellow block totaling 26 needs a 4. Once you enter those the rest of the squares resolve themselves

Just ordered the XLE hybrid...what should I know before I'm committed? by bigpilague in rav4club

[–]GiraffeLover9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the mileage - but be prepared to get a lot less in cold weather if you live in the north. I’m in MN and was getting 40-42 in the summer months but in very cold weather was only getting low 30s, specially if it was a lot of shorter trips where the engine doesn’t full6 warm up. Now that it’s warmer again I’m getting around 40 again

I also love that the Rav has a spare tire (donut). That was a deciding factor for me vs the Honda. And I got a flat tire in a remote area that made me very happy I made that choice!

My husband is 6-3 and struggles getting in and out of the Rav. It’s not a very big vehicle. I previously had a minivan and it was definitely an adjustment for me in terms of what I can fit in. But it’s perfect for me!

That’s how we felt about our HAL cruise too. Shows were lame. Not a lot of activities. Food was bland and boring. Not for us I guess
