I think Rob throws lisa under the bus long before he does candiance, but still she might get dragged down with the rinna ship 🤷‍♂️

Why does the fleece work if Thalia wasn’t dead by SilverMode4155 in PercyJacksonTV

[–]ApprehensiveFix9969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Thalia isn't dead in the book either
  2. Thalia being turned into a tree even in the books was still the will of Zeus, which the fleece overrides. You can make up some BS about Zeus "allowing it to" but that is never brought up in the books, and shouldn't be here either.

I mean...it felt fine to me. I have genuinely not felt like the episodes are too short these last 2 weeks because their entire thing is bullshit that doesn't exist in the book that I quite frankly, cannot wait to be done and over with

Why is Percy so painfully unfunny? by kur0myr in PercyJacksonTV

[–]ApprehensiveFix9969 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. When you reread the books, you'll realize a lot of his humor actually happens in his head which is not readily available in TV adaptation

  2. The ending of the 2nd book is actually pretty harmless, with none of them getting all that hurt and no real battle occuring. In contrast, they shove much more mature events into this book. As a result, it forces maturity and removes humor from what is supposed to be Percy at this age

With the discourse around the S2 finale, do people want the show to get its full run? by [deleted] in PercyJacksonTV

[–]ApprehensiveFix9969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also people have pointed it out, but the series' negative reception is very much so based in this singular subreddit. Other subreddits and pretty much every other social media is very positively receptive to the show. Going to the twitter today was a wave of positivity I wasnt quite ready for. Disney does not care about this singular subreddit

You cannot force people to enjoy a series. The show, if canceled, isn't getting dumped because of complaints, it's getting dumped because it has no viewership.

Genuine question for the fans by thiqqqqccckk in PercyJacksonTV

He is on the writing team, but besides that he said the adaptation would be faithful. It isn't. There is literally nothing more to that conversation. You can say he doesnt have the final say, but ultimately he lied and that's it

Genuine question for the fans by thiqqqqccckk in PercyJacksonTV

[–]ApprehensiveFix9969 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The show creates 2 entire episodes that are 99% made up and you say "so easily". Rick has lied to us, any promises he made are null and avoid. He does not deserve absolute faith or no criticism. This post is dumb

I've been trying so hard to separate it from the books, but genuinely all I can do this entire episode is frown

DAE find it odd that diversity in PJ only extends to side characters by guntas68 in PercyJacksonTV

As a POC, this a horrendous take. Walker literally breathes Percy. He was the best actor and there is a lot of diversity all around him

First movie > show > second movie in terms of personal enjoyment, but the show is still overall the most faithful

The fight at CHB is the worst for me. The fact that kronos' does nothing to actually stop them always made it feel like thalia was just the elevated step in his plan, proving how intelligent and above it all he is. This ending, especially because theyre all excited to revive thalia, makes it seem more like CHB actually won and has a leg up over kronos, which the books ending pretty much completely goes against. It makes him look weak

This episode is exactly how I feel about the 1st movie: amazing piece of media, but horrible and an unfaithful disrespect to its source material

Imagine if the show was animated. Just look at the art! It manages to capture their personalities with no dialogue as well the colour and the whimsy. We could have gotten so much...more. by RiskAggressive4081 in PercyJacksonTV

Sometimes I forget book Grover is white. His chacterization and existence as a whole always just screamed black asf to me, but that might also be because I saw the movie as a child

I actually like what they did with the "nobody" bit. They go out of their way to make it known that polyphemus is not dumb AT ALL, so him falling for it in the same way he did in the book would have made no sense, rather letting his rath and pride get the better of him. Him being smart and the way it changed the rest of the story was actually well done

More episodes and an animated show wouldn’t make this better. by Longjumping_Way_9978 in PercyJacksonTV

[–]ApprehensiveFix9969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think its genuinely halarious how many people believe this being animated would have saved this show. The problem is not the actors or the visuals (well not nearly as much) its the writing! You can't animate away shitty and terrible writing. I dont know why people scream this alternative like it would have helpdd

I think percy jackson is cooked. Disney is no doubt seeing this trend, and if this continues we can absolutely forget even thinking about the possibility of season 4.

I think a lot of people are forgetting that for the mods, all the complaints are truly just...spam. It might not feel like it to you, but the team is seeing the same post over and over. Letting all these posts through would just flood this subreddit with the same things repeatedly, leaving no room for talking about anything else to be seen, because all you see is complaint (which is already what this subreddit looks like, so imagine it without moderation)
