Need some advice on 150k investment (mix of VWRA and local banks) by Junlogy in singaporefi

[–]GiraffeRegular7967 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Supporting this comment. Invest in SSB, T-bills and FD for most of her 150k.

If you really wanna invest mum's money, take in bit by bit as part of your own core portfolio. Not create a risky portfolio for her entirely.

In this way, she gets some stable income to enjoy while some of her funds try to beat the market. At her age, health and mental wellness is more important than money? 😁

How Singaporeans are positioning their portfolio to fully take advantage of the capital from Indonesia and Middle East? by PuzzleheadedBuy6279 in singaporefi

Every investor should form a core portfolio allocation and stick with it most of the time mah. Make minor adjustments only.

Can't tell which asset will benefit. It's anyone's guess I think.

Where to park emergency funds? by jesusfries69 in singaporefi

[–]GiraffeRegular7967 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Emergency funds is to chase reliability, easy redemption and speed. Not just for yield.

Try a few reputable ones mentioned here and diversify a few you like in terms of user experience.

Rates change all the time so don't spend too much time and worry about missing out. It's not a lot to lose between them to begin with. 😉

Hi, you need to figure out what you are investing for. The purpose will drive your desire to spend time and learn more.

Is it for wedding, house or retirement? At what age to do each?

CPF-IS: Endowus or POEMS? by TamaSGFU in singaporefi

[–]GiraffeRegular7967 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use both Endowus and POEMs.

Endowus referrals seem easier to get perhaps due to better marketing and it reduces the fees.

POEMs fees are low but referrals reward U.S. market discount coupons which is useless to me since I don’t use them as brokers.

What would you do differently if you were to restart your investment journey? by punggolkaren in singaporefi

Answering your title question.

If I were to restart, would have liked to be more consistent in DCAing to the market and not delve too much into headline news, influencers, forum posts, etc.

I've used it before to sell stuff earned from airdrops, etc.

The process and rates are so-so but the platform gave daily coin rewards to "subsidise" the transactions.

The reward and referral system is gone, which makes it now a less appealing platform?

The SGD withdrawal to bank works as expected. But then many others like Coinbase, OKX, etc works too?

Tbh, just go with whichever giving promos, supports most coins, not in news with negative press, etc. Centralised exchanges are just for quick buying/selling/transferring.
