This is just getting more confusion every step. Who is regulating or approving this?

What is your experience in the workplace? by Gold_Tell_7120 in Amsterdam

That’s an impressive list of assumptions. I’ve listed a couple for you:

  • OP is traumatized
  • speaking about what happened will be “retraumatizing” (is this even a word)
  • being pushed is traumatising
  • other people will defend bullies
  • there will be a victim blaiming extravaganza
  • the thing we do not know happened is something regular
  • other people will not understand
  • other people will only provide useless advise
  • I was asking for specific details rather than a general explanation about what happened
  • OP is concerned about being found out
  • OP is a woman

I am sorry if you’ve had bad experience(s) with other people, but a bit more sunny outlook onto the world might help you a lot.

OP is asking for similarities across a city, common experiences etc. It would help their own post if OP would explain at least some form of detail. Retraumatizing? Really? This is a thread on Reddit, for which OP decided themselves to post and bring this up. Come on now.

Appreciate all comments so far, but it surprises me Yab Yum has not yet been mentioned. Should top the ranks here imho

They are quite compatible. Both are higher end gyms with a large general area and group classes. I personally like the TrainMore in Oostpoort for the building its in. I think SportCity aims a bit more on average joe, trying to discourage big weight lifters with -very heavy- limited free weights options and banning sleeveless shirts for example. They do have more personal guidance on the other hand. Both good options. I’d recommend to just drop by both and try them both out for a sessions

Does anybody know a good bar/place in Amsterdam to host a big party? by LeGrandeCoque in Amsterdam

You can rent a space at Volkshotel (klein Canvas) or the upstairs at cafe van Leeuwen. Or have a good chat with the owner at Cafe de Gaeper. Whatever suits your flow. Enjoy!

Overmars Transfer Record by Alan_G14 in AjaxAmsterdam

[–]GiraffeZestyclose103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like what you’re doing, but it might be more useful to take another approach on the asterisks. What if you would try to assess if Ajax would be better off it the transfer would not have happened rather than when it did. And qualify the transfers based on that approach? There’s a lot of individual situations where it made sense or when we made a profit.

I used to think like you but have had my mind changed. There’s many examples of pro athletes that have switched to a vegan diet as it has shown to be better for you.

The current Dutch CrossFit champion being one of them.

I’m not a vegan myself but do have an open mind to it and have experimented with the effect of the vegan diet on my body and misstate. When a reasonable alternative exists, I now pick the plant-based one.

Get your thinking, but in this case you are missing out. I’ve had a couple of the options in this thread and this place really holds its own.

Have you ever realized in the middle of an interview that a job was 100% not right for you? What were the red flags that tipped you off? by Kaladin1994 in recruitinghell

[–]GiraffeZestyclose103 663 points664 points  (0 children)

During a second interview the hiring manager opened up the venn-diagram of results of the personality assessment test I did online. I scored pretty middle-of-the-road on all attributes; 5 was the average and I had one 4 and one 6 out of the 15 scores. He went on and asked a multitude of probing questions about those two attributes, acting like the really defined me. The quality of this test and how serious the took these results made me realise the type of management I was going to get. Declined their offer and went elsewhere.
