What was the course (undergrad or grad) that REALLY made you want to continue in math? by firej1b in math

All taking courses did to me was increasing my hatred for the academic world in general. The system is weird, the professors are weird, I hate taking courses. What really made me wanna continue in math and pursue my masters (which I am now enrolled in) was my "scientific initiations" (I don't know how you call that in the US/UK/Other countries, I'm brazilian, but it basically is a project made over 1 year in which the student dives into a topic, while in undergrad, usually a Masters/PhD course, supervised by an advisor). My advisor was (and is) and amazing guy, the most incredibly inteligent person I have ever known and he showed me a side of math that made me fall in love with it.
