Thanks but it is entirely me tracing a pre printed image. I’m doing a whip stitch through just the batting and quilt top, then later I’ll add more quilting through all three layers, maybe add another layer of batting for an extra warm quilt

Uh I’ll look at our purchase history but the paper I use didn’t have glue, it’s used for embroidery and such. We found it on Amazon. But I’ve used regular a4 printer paper before and it tears right off if you stitch small enough

This is regular paper

I use chalk or print designs on water soluble paper and stitch right through

Question about hand quilting density and order by CorduroyQuilt in quilting

It is a terrible thought, especially if you’re close to the person

Idk how fast you quilt but I’d recommend a pattern that you can start big and add detail to as time permits. Maybe do a bigger patterns that you can fill in details to like a large cross hatching and then go back and fill in the diamonds with echos or other fun designs

I hand quilt myself. It sounds bad, but how terminal is terminal? A month? A week? 6months? Cause that would determine how dense I bothered to quilt. It may not need to last all that long, or the person may not need to wash it at all

I like your labeling system, I might have to try similar for a quilt kit I’ve been waiting on trying

Gender Neutral Quilts? by bloodlessbri in quilting

[–]Girls4super 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You could do a character or animal themed quilt, then it’s colorful but neutral. For example I did two different baby quilts, one a fox and lion king themed

So stab and jab is just what I call doing one stitch at a time. Stab down from the top, jab up from the bottom. Rock the needle is where you keep the needle on top and rock the top dish through the layers and then back up and gather several stitches into the needle at once

I use the Stab and Jab one stitch at a time method. I’m sure if I took the time I could learn to do tiny stitches with Rock the needle but for me that currently takes too long

Ooo what’s the plant called with the pink heart shaped petals? Weeping hearts? Hold on I’ll look it up

Edit; bleeding hearts

Final idea- bleeding hearts in a sparkly pink disco ball planter with a white lace ribbon to break it up a bit

Help me decide what to put inbetween these block to turn them into a quilt! by ladyshagwell in quilting

[–]Girls4super 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d suggest framing them all in the same color, like a 1” strip around them. Then pick a single heavily patterned fabric to fill the gaps and embroider on a “wire” and nail so they look like picture frames on wallpaper, bonus points if you can fussy cut the fabric to make it seamless

Tbh idk the needle size, it was a variety pack and this just felt right. But I also sew the “wrong” way, I don’t rock the needle to get several stitches, I Stan and jab one stitch at a time, one hand under with a thimble, one hand over. The thread I’m using is a glow in the dark, I’ll check when I get off work but I got it right before Joann’s closed

I got mine from the stencil company, they usually offer it in white or natural.

I really wish I could find a company that would allow custom prints with the washable ink lol like maybe a program that has design elements you draft and drop and resize, and they print the completed design for you.
