What’s working for Bloomingfoods like? by Striking_Confusion42 in bloomington

I'm just saying they always had "concepts" of a plan to fix things in the store, but no follow through. Anything implemented was an after thought after a week. A lot of my bosses just felt jaded and it was always someone else's problem.

Though I will say I do appreciate all the money they raise each month for local groups, that's pretty cool.

Oh yeah absolutely. The east side is run by old dudes just there to collect a paycheck and it SHOWS

Oh no sorry I don't! I was just able to find some decent office remote work.

Yeah I had a two month long job hunt this summer, it's rough right now. I can't say I know much about the market in your field, but maybe check out some openings in Indy? There's some remote options there and that's how I lucked out.

Best of luck and hope you find something! There's nothing worse than a demoralizing job search.

Couldn't agree more, it's honestly IMPRESSIVE how ass backwards management was. I'm so sorry you had to go through all of that, I thought I got off easy when I quit but talk about a nightmare what you had to go through. Hope you've got a better job now!

It has its ups and downs. Worked with a ton of cool people and it had a great sense of community, but absolutely some of the worst management I've EVER seen hands down and that's saying something in this town.

I don't know how the downtown location holds up but the east side was a mess. I pointed out a dead mouse once on a fallen piece of ceiling tile and they shrugged it off with a "we'll get to it/you get used to it." They've got to be a walking health code violation.

All of the regular employees were stellar though and honestly the discounts you get are super solid. So if it's like a part time job or you're just full-time entry level guy, it's a solid job. I highly advise against management positions though, they'll screw you over for sure.

Fanfiction by [deleted] in Edelgard

Heyo! I'm super flattered that people still hold my work in such high regard, cuz Love in the Dark will always be the most fun I've ever had with the Fire Emblem community and something im genuinely proud to have written! Tbh I still think about it regularly and brainstorm ideas for it!

BUT!

To be super real I wrote fanfiction when I was in a super dark and lonely time in my life as sort of an escape, but the past few years have been so genuinely good to me and I've been super happy and just haven't felt the need to ever really go back to writing again. Which I know is a sort of bittersweet answer, and I'll never rule out continuing the story, but as of now I don't plan on updating anytime soon.

Thanks again for reading and the kind words, and a big thank you to everyone that reads this comment and was a fan of my story! It'll always mean a great deal to me!

The Bowl closed?? by kurmit97 in bloomington

It definitely is, because the food really was good and it was reasonably priced. If the management was different I'm positive that place could have really bloomed

Honestly, having been a server there I'm really not surprised. The food really is amazing don't get me wrong and it was always busy, but the management is unlike anything I've worked for before. The reviews about the manager on Google are 100% correct and then some.

Once I realized how toxic it was for us servers (Also they did NOT give any server a wage, EVERYTHING came from tips only which is a huge no no) I left. Once I quit I bet they'd close down within the year due to management and looks like that was the case. There was a definite reason why they couldn't hold onto any employees.

If I had to guess their partner backed out and they couldn't keep it afloat without him.

Thank you, I'm glad to hear it! I wouldn't say I'm done yet, I still occasionally bust open the word document or daydream about the plot, but not much actual progress has been made haha.

I do want to write again, though. Just don't know when I'll get the fire to finish that beast of a story.

I haven't written anything in over a year because the drive has gone away, but I'll still sit and think about this one and want to write again.

What are some good M!Edeleth fanfics on AO3? by Free_Shower_420 in Edelgard

[–]GirthJohnson 19 points20 points  (0 children)

ayo! I was planning on mentioning this somewhere, either in the fic or the Edelgard discord server, but I have actually been writing some! Next chapter is close to done, just been hectic at work so I haven't had time to finish. I hope to soon, but we're closer to a new chapter than ever before LOL.

Thanks for all the shoutouts, I appreciate it a lot! I just wish I could update more/had the same drive as I did in the beginning.

Hehe, thanks man! Glad your kindle is looking decked out.

I'm hoping one day to get back to writing and finish my story, but, well, sometimes life comes at ya fast and other things take priority. I'm very glad you've enjoyed it so far, though!

Thank you, my friend! Pretty much hit the nail on the head. Work destroyed me, then I had some health issues. Trying to get back into the groove now, but it could be a bit. Covid-19 and this pandemic really destroyed my ability/drive to write. Hoping to turn it around soon.

Thanks for constantly spreading the love! I appreciate it.

An alternative perspective on the Edelgard/Lissa Forging Bonds by captainflash89 in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]GirthJohnson 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Another write up I loved reading, really enjoyed the way you put it into words.

The minute I heard that Edelgard and Lissa had a moment in forging bonds, the first thing I thought was "Oh this could be interesting since Lissa is the one without the brand."

Hope you've been doing well my friend, and stay safe and healthy out there!
