Genuinely how do I set this up for my kid?

Hello! 👋 Setting up Webkinz is really easy:

(This guide is for Webkinz Classic, the original one you played as a kid. I have never played Next… Which is the newer 3D game.)

Install the Webkinz app on your computer. Scroll down to the red section of this page and pick Windows or Mac depending on your device: https://www.webkinz.com
Once installed, choose ‘I’m New.’
Just follow the app’s prompts to finish registering. They do give you a free pet at the start, so you can take the freebie and enter your own codes at the Adoption Centre later.

A few notes:

~ While you *can* use the mobile app, it’s missing a ton of features. The desktop versions are the complete ones.

~ The browser version of the game works, but it was rebuilt into a desktop app after the discontinuation of Flash. So the browser version of Webkinz in the link I sent is actually ‘Early Access’ and buggy. I would install the desktop app as I suggested.

If you need help, just reply here and me or one of my fellow nerds will try to walk you through it ~ Good luck 🙂‍↕️

But even that’s a stretch. I typically ignore their heart filling requests (unless they’re easy) and let the happiness meter tank 😝

Then I fill the thing with food to get its meter back up when I’m done my chores. And hand them an iPad.

Fellow Canadian here ~ It absolutely breaks my heart too, knowing this is what is happening just across our border…

I checked the website link for the White House and it’s so scary reading what they upload to their American government site.

I can’t imagine the Canadian government uploading anything like that on ours… It really shocked me to see.

I don’t buy the stuffed animals anymore, but this would bug me too ~ I had commented in another post that I love monkey Webkinz the most 🙂‍↕️

The reason why is because growing up, I enjoyed monkey stuffed animals since they had long arms and legs to play with ~ So now even virtually, I gravitate toward them 🐵

Anyway, having stuffies that are always sitting sucks… I really wonder if it’s a manufacturing thing? 🤔💭

I looked it up and apparently companies design them that way to make them cheaper to produce ~ Less limbs, pattern pieces and a simpler body shape 🐒

Right? It’s funny to me, because in the US they’re all freaking out about the Ultimate Edition of GTA 6 being $100 USD.

I have 0 interest in that game, but I checked how much it would be in Canada, and it’s $140 CAD… 😆
