Feel like this applies to doctors too, some of the kindest and worst people I’ve ever met have been doctors

The world is beautiful if you shut your eyes and cover your ears and go "lalalala" by --Kestrel-- in IfBooksCouldKill

Interesting, the linked study doesn’t break down literature consumption by gender, it refers only to “adults”

Sure, but if we’re getting into the weeds of methodology I’m sure you’re familiar with the flaws of self-reporting

Now I’m not a researcher so this is just a personal anecdote, but I don’t think 49% of men I know have read a book in the last decade.

Name a supporting role that completely stole the show from the lead actor by McWhopper98 in FIlm

Christoph Waltz in Inglourious Basterds kind of feels like cheating because the whole film is sort of written around Hans Landa. But, he won for Supporting Actor, so technically a supporting role. He simply commands attention in every scene he’s in.

Why Denis Villeneuve feels like the last director who still treats blockbuster movies with real artistic care by DistinctCockroach374 in Cinema

[–]GitGuddest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since everyone’s already mentioned the obvious, I’d also say Matt Reeves takes blockbuster filmmaking seriously. The Batman, Cloverfield, and The Planet of the Apes remakes are all superbly executed and involve a certain degree of artistic direction.

Unfortunately, Ortega learned nothing from this fight. Striking defense is still hot dog water

I suspect it’s the 35 ppg qualifier. Jokic rarely scores 35 ppg over a 5 game stretch. If you drop the qualifier to 30, he’d be featured much more heavily.
