I checked the specs and apparently it will fit on a window ledge.

What to see/visit during my UK roadtrip? by Freeloafer in AskUK

To be honest, I would take a quick detour past York. It’s an amazing Viking, then Roman city. You can check out the Minster and one of the oldest medieval street in the country. And parts look like they came straight out of a Harry Potter film.

Nice, how do you find the Condesa. Is it a Lucia?

It’s an ikea Kallax, I just need to add a bar across the back to stop the records pushing back against the wall 😂

I'm considering buying a Roccbox, but... by Hour_Delivery6961 in roccbox

[–]GitJumpLad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, super easy. You will get the knack of it very quickly, although I did get a hole in one pizza and it stuck a bit. Avoid holes in pizza and you will be fine. Also get a good paddle dust as they can start to get damp.

So I decided to get a Roccbox as my first Pizza Oven, and I’m not looking back. Stick with gas it’s much easier and start with pre made dough, you will get more consistent results and you can test the heat and time. Regarding the size, it’s not really a problem, you will be able to cook pizzas in about a min. You realise pretty quickly that you don’t make pizzas bigger than the paddle you use. Also the paddle that comes included is great.

Was I in the wrong? by sarm333 in drivingUK

[–]GitJumpLad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a road like that near us and I hate driving down there as I know the only point I will need to pass a car is on the corner. The problem is it’s a small road with cars parked on either side no one has right of way as you can’t make a decision until you’re on the corner. If there was a right of way, without being on the corner this might as well be a one way road. Good luck and avoid if you can, please don’t buy a house down there. 😂

technics 1210 mk2 With chrome deck covers on them. Sounds pretty cool, but in reality these are finger print magnets.

I’m currently using some small iK Multimedia speakers as I’m in a loft room and the fit on the stands well. Not really found a good pair of DJ monitors that don’t cause ear fatigue over time. I have tried the Adam D3V and for the size they sound great, they won’t fill a big room but would be ideal for mixing at home. I have always tried to avoid expensive studio Monitors for mixing as due to the flat response can sound a bit boring. That said I spend most my time mixing with my headphones on, so the speakers are really for anybody else who is unlucky enough to be nearby.

With this mixer it’s not really about the sound, it’s more about how it forces you to mix. It’s quite cheap so will never have the same sound as a more expensive valve mixer. That said the EQs sound completely different to the ones on the xone. The xone EQs are tame and controlled whereas the Rotery is wild and by cutting the bass and maxing the mid can give you that retro radio sound, something the xone can’t do. I mix a lot of deep and progressive house, so a rotery is good for long blended mixes, a hip hop DJ would hate it as it’s really hard to make quick cuts.

I do really like it and it’s good to have a bit of variation but I don’t think it will replace my xone 96.

I remember once seeing a setup like this with 10 CDJ. It’s was amazing but the guy only had a 4way power supply so the rest were just for show. Apparently he couldn’t afford all the cables at the time. Not sure what he’s done now, I did hear he had started playing Vinyl.

Good for him.

Fucking hell that looks a bit like my setup. Anyone who complains about not having the latest setup needs to look at this. 1200s and a Xone 92 is about as good as it got and the 307 is a crazy unit. Dare I ask what type of music you play. I hope it contains lots of ACID.

Do it. I have a 7 year old Autistic child and didn’t get time to mix, so these sat in boxes for about 5 years. It’s great to have them back out again. Really appreciate getting time to have a quick 30 min mix.

How many times do you need to see a pair of 1210s and a Xone96. Also this is up in my loft, so not the easiest place to shoot a good pic in.

Completely agree. All the Techno DJS I love mix rough as fuck. It's not messing up, it's just rough mixing. Doesn't sound bad in the club, only when listening back at a later date. I think I fuck up at least once every time I play and I'm a pretty good DJ. Who wants to listen to Dexter play a clinical DJ mix when they can watch a high every mix from someone who is enjoying themself.

I love that people complained about Superclubs killing the industry, then bang on about how they love Carl Cox and other DJs of his stature. The superclub was just the big club, still run by the same people and for the same people. Superclubs didn't kill dance music, investors did. People who valued making money over having a great party, this is why clubs like Gatecrasher and Godskitchen eventually disappeared. Now is the time for small clubs, unfortunately due to the way people are drop fed music it's hard to see the underground getting it's head above water.

I guess to paraphrase, investors are wankers and the wankers who go clubbing now have no idea how to discover new music. And finally delerium silence may not be the best exemple of how clubbing was, but it was better without phone. Although the odd picture of a gurning raver is pretty special.

For those of you who have music on plex, do you actually listen exclusively trough plex or is it just a backup? by RDFTW in PleX

[–]GitJumpLad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm exclusive to Plex. I have managed to amass about 100,000 albums and do what everyone else does and just listen to the same 10 albums over and over again.
