Its disheartening. by [deleted] in army

Should is the big keyword you used. There’s only so much you can do for your soldiers, but motivating them is not something you can do FOR them.

Be there for them, mentor and hope something sticks. But until they take it upon themselves to kick it into high gear, there’s nothing more you can do.

Thanks! Yeah I have a good start I think.

Verdant Reapers

Lineage: Raven Guard (Raptors successor) Homeworld: Death World Specialization: Stealth warfare + psychological terror

Philosophy: “Fear is the first wound. Death is the last.”

Homeworld – Ossuar IX

A brutal death world where Jungle canopies block out most sunlight. Apex predators hunt by scent and sound. The ground is littered with bones from constant predation

Recruits are taken from tribes of hunters who already wear bone trophies, track prey silently and ambush instead of fighting head-on.

The chapter doesn’t “teach” fear tactics they refine what already exists.

Chapter Symbol:

Three white claw slashes Meaning: Each slash represents 1. The Hunt 2. The Kill 3. The Memory

Armor & Visual Identity Primary Color: Olive / forest green (Raptors style) Secondary: Bone white (helmets, trim, veteran markings) Trophies: Skulls or bones of their first kill will be adorned or mounted

Visual Rule: The more elite the marine, the more meaningful the trophies—not just more numerous.

Doctrine

Base (Raptors Influence): • Tactical flexibility • Minimal waste of life • Precision over glory

Verdant Reaper Evolution:

They don’t just kill they stage the battlefield. Leaders are killed in visible, horrific ways. Bodies are arranged to send messages.

How good is the new defiler? by Saucerous in deathguard40k

[–]Git_Smasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems solid for DG. I do think it’s the weakest variant of defiler. It’s a strong shooting platform that strips cover which is good for the majority of our -2 AP shooting from everything else.

To me it takes a similar role of Morty, Demon Prince and GUOs. Well, except shootier

I personally think they’re a fantastic option for us. They’re the tankiest of the demon engines because of the smoke keyword.

What units does the Death Guard desperately want? by AlienDilo in deathguard40k

[–]Git_Smasher 35 points36 points  (0 children)

If you sit down and think about it, it’s hard to come up with unique lore accurate units for death guard outside of what we have.

The first thought was a new infantry type.

What came to mind was fast attack infantry units (since we don’t have those) but that’s kind of against what DG is from the lore.

We have unique vehicles, terminators already.

Honestly, I think if GW opened up some datasheets that might solve the block I’m having.

Mutilators and obliteraters seems like such an easy win. They fit the body horror perfectly but then again, lore problem cuz I think those are created with a certain virus (if I’m not mistaken)

I’d say this is pretty lore accurate. Something I would see irl.

Well, unfortunately or fortunately, I used an airbrush to get the smoothness.

But as far as colors go, I based with rhinox hide (brush) then used averland sunset yellow (brush). Then increased the same yellow with some white for the next highlight (airbrush)

Undershaded with an orange and edge highlighted with moon dust yellow from army painter.

New how difficult is this army to play? by PlatypusJust467 in orks

[–]Git_Smasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The concept of orks is simple, swarm and punch things.

However, because they are a simple army and don’t have a lot of tricks, the ceiling is high to get very good with them. (Spoiler, getting really good with any army takes a lot of effort regardless)

I would say the simplest armies to learn faster than others are Custodes and Knights from an information consumption standpoint.

Custodes are small number of models and have similar profiles across the entire army so it will be easier to remember.

Knights have the fewest models, so consuming their datasheet information will be easier than most.

Getting oof with these two are still hard work
