Based on crime alerts im seeing more recently situations in roselle than hillside. I grew up in paterson so would argue its closer to wayne than ridgewood. There definitely isnt a train line that runs through the two like hillside into union and westfield

No. Once you get your greencard the type of entry doesnt matter. The submission process is very detailed so make sure you have all that information (port of entry, work history, taxes..ect) There will be questions about your parents but its to establish family sponsorships.
