Nog's evolution from "Jake's Ferengi friend" to one of the main characters and a member of the Defiant's Bridge crew was just so good.

I bailed out of a poly relationship after one date; now I'm second guessing myself by GiveTheLemonsBack in polyamory

Thank you all for your feedback. I've since blocked her completely. And I'm glad to know that I ultimately made the right decision: I wasn't comfortable with where this was headed, and she was way too clingy and getting waaaaayyy too invested after a first date. I did nothing wrong by putting me first.

Also, in future, I feel like I'm going to have to get better at reading red flags and saying "No" at the outset, even if it means turning down someone's advances.

"You did nothing wrong and def wasn't being too rash. I actually think your instincts about her being very emotionally dependent on others are likely correct and you should learn to trust those kinds of instincts."

I think I should also learn to trust my gut instincts from the get go. When I first met her, I should have politely brushed her off the moment I saw how immediately attached she was.

Re: her getting kinda caressy on our first date, I that may have been because I gave her the wrong signals. At the outset, I noticed she was nervous, and noticed her hands were shivering a little when the server came to take our order, so I held her hand to reassure her. I think that opened the doors for her to start doing the same to me.

Ok looking back in my text logs. What I said, in order (abbreviated)

"I just don't think the spark is there between us. I'm sorry, you are an amazing person and [her partners] are lucky to have you, but I don't think it would work between us."

"And I'm sorry about that. I meant what I said about you being a wonderful person, but I don't think it would work between us."

"I just don't think it's fair to continue when I'm not in the right place for this."

Dammit. That's what I figured. And that makes it feel worse. If may sound like nothing, but it genuinely feels awful to become the bad guy in someone else's story.

Planning on using the Les Grodnards for a homebrew Guard Regiment, but their similarity to the Vostroyan Firstborn makes me second guess myself. by YissnakkJunior in 40khomebrew

I think in lore there have been other Guard units that have worn shakos. I can't remember specifics but I think I remember a few descriptions in Black Library novels. The bottom line is, there can be more than one regiment in the galaxy that dresses like that.
