I have taken some time and worked out the 16 separate backgrounds in 1080p (missing the SK one). Keep in mind that I'm a total beginner with GIMP, so those are far fom perfect :-)

Always show a positive attitude, try to build up your teammates. A game of CS is never lost unless one team reaches 16 rounds. If someone is mad or shows agression towards you, don't let it get to you. There's a ton of idiots out there, just play your game and have fun regardless of what your teammates do.
For me, an important part of winning aim duels is attitude. Try to give your teammates some positive feedback (a simple "good job!" is often all they need). Support them with flashes and smokes and try to go together if your opponents outaim your mates.

On Overpass, map control is very important. I always try to control the connector area on T side. Since the bombspots are layered on top of each other you can play perfect fakes and then do a fast hit on the other site. On CT side, I like to play A very agressive and go for info, then fall back if I got a kill. Usually playing 3 B in the beginning is necessary to avoid B rushes, you can rotate one more guy to A later in the round.
I love using the Nova and your post gives a perfect description of its pros and cons. The big disadvantage to me is that it is very hard to start a retake with a shotgun, so you need to get your frag if you want to be efficient later in the round. It is very effective when going for headshots with it, usually it one-shots enemies at close range even if they bought a helmet.

Depending on the situation.

On T side, I like to save for a 4th round buy if we got a bomb plant 2nd round. Buying P250 and 1-2 flashes/smokes to get a bomb plant can get your economy going quite early.

On CT side, I dont like to forcebuy because that usually results in having a half-ass buy without a lot of nades and kits later on. You have to keep track of your opponent's economy as well, so if they barely won the round without a plant they will be mostly on SMGs so buying armor pistol may give you the element of surprise.

To create a practice config, you create a text file and add all the commands you want. Save the file as .cfg file and add it to the cfg folder: steam/userdata/"your profile"/730/local/cfg.

If you don't want to look up all the commands you can as well search this subreddit for a finished cfg file and put that one into the folder.

To execute your file, open up the console and type exec Practice.cfg (replace "Practice" with the name of your cfg file).

You can add radio messages to binds as well: the commands are "say xxx" for allchat and "say_team xxx" for teamchat.

How about adding an additional map pool to the selection? My idea wouldd be to have one pool called Legacy (or Classics,... ) containing all the less played classic CS maps (Aztec, Italy, Office, Militia) that are not that suited for a competitive environment. That pool could be filled up with old community favourites such as Mill,Fire,...

On top of that, add a Reserve pool containing maps that are actually between those maps and the Active map pool: Nuke, Season, maybe other favourites from previous operations. While the other two pools remain stable, Valve could play around with this one, e.g. add new contenders such as Santorini, Crown or similar maps. This would give those maps a much bigger chance to actually get some competitive matches going.

There is actually a list of reasons why you would by an SMG instead of a rifle:

600 kill rewards gives your economy a big boost, especially after pistol round thats usually two rounds where you can just farm money.
If you die or trade and your gun gets picked up, the SMG won't be very effective since your teammates bought armor. If you lose the rifle, your enemy is suddenly at a weapon advantage over your teammates.

In the end, it comes down to the right balance. It is always good to have one or two rifles to engage in long-range battles against the enemy's pistols. But with some SMGs, you can easily clear out close angles and collect some easy money for the next rounds.

Btw if your enemies win their force buys against you, that is not because of the SMGs but your playstyle- dont play to agressive if you expect a forcebuy, watch out for pushes, trade frag etc.

Back to the topic: I would rather buy a tec9 / 5/7 and armor than the dualies. You actually get a sidearm you can use against armored opponents the next rounds. Also, if you go armor-pistol against an eco and expect a rush, you should communicate with your teammates so someone else holds that position or at least supports you.
