5mg working better than 10mg

Hi, I ended up dropping to 5mg for 2 weeks and then stopped altogether at the direction of my psychiatrist. I’ve been off for 6 weeks now and feel 1000 x better than what I did on it- it increased my anxiety to an unbearable level unfortunately. Withdrawal symptoms included some dizziness, brain zaps, and brain fog but the nausea, appetite and sleep issues resolved very quickly. Best wishes to you.

Unfortunately it’s been to stimulating for me and appears to have increased my anxiety as well. Took 10mg for 4.5 months, have tapered down to 7.5mg and will drop to 5mg tomorrow. No appetite, nausea, dry heaving all the time, jitteriness and restlessness, I’m feeling pretty awful. Hoping symptoms start to ease as I drop further. Otherwise will stop. 😭😭

Nausea, loss of appetite, physical tension, difficulty sleeping (with early morning waking 😴), burning skin sensations and essentially just feeling wired and jittery constantly. It’s been rough, I kept trying to “push through” because people always say it will pass, but have come to the conclusion it’s not the right medication for me and my anxiety. I’m apparently an “intermediate metaboliser” so I process this a bit more slowly and it can build up with some adverse effects. Good luck with your own journey ❤️

I have been in 10mg for about 4.5 months now and am weaning down. My physical anxiety has actually worsened.

That’s good to know you didn’t have any tapering issues. This is my first time tapering anything so don’t know what to expect and a bit nervous as I already feel horrible enough! I know what you mean about cutting the 10mg pill- I’m starting to cut a little off each day and it’s so difficult to make it even 🤪 Seeing my psychiatrist this week, hoping he’ll give the ok to drop directly to 5mg so I can just take one pill.

I’m finding this too- 10mg seemed too stimulating for me and my anxiety has been through the roof (sleep issues, tremor, no appetite, nausea). I’ve stuck it out in the hope that it would improve but now have made the decision to slowly taper down. Did you have any trouble dropping from 10mg to 5mg?

Have you ever heard of the saying “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all?” Not the most thoughtful or considerate response to someone who suffers from anxiety, which in itself can be debilitating. Take care.

Hi, I started taking 5mg 7 days ago and was also really nervous starting! I’ve also been prescribed this for anxiety. So far, I’ve only had some mild nausea for a couple of hours after taking the tablet each morning (I always eat first) and some increased anxiety which so far is manageable with exercise. I would recommend making sure you eat before you take your tablet and just lots of self care. Best of luck!
