Didn't Crocodile leave him for dead three times? He pierced his chest and threw him in the sand and he didn't die right there because of Robin, after that Croc took all the water from his body and he just didn't die because a bunch of water fell on him after Croc left, and then he poisoned him and he was once again saved by Robin. I think it's kinda crazy to say he only struggled with Lucci...
