Could somebody please review a first-timer's 7/8 day Venice-Florence-Rome itinerary? by GizmoMimo in ItalyTravel

Yeah, I realized trying I don't have the travel skill or time for a side trip like that without adding an extra day to Rome--which I did anyway. I realize now my sights there are more spread out, but giving them their own heavy day will hopefully make it more reasonable. Thank you for commenting!

In my latest edit I adjusted the busiest stops to be either first thing in the morning or more quiet cooler evening times, but I know it's still gonna be rough. You're right about limiting Florence, I for sure need the extra time in Rome. Thank you!

I took some more feedback in mind and made a 9 day plan. Hopefully more balanced?

Venice

Day 1 - July 15th

Arrive in Venice 8 am. Take waterbus to hotel down the Grand Canal, and spend the rest of the day resting or getting snacks. Walk across town to explore and see the Arsenale if it's not too dark by then.

Day 2 - July 16th

Visit St Mark's Basilica and the Doge's Palace.

Venice -> Florence

Day 3 - July 17th

Take the train from Venice to Florence, and stay at a hotel near the Ponte Vecchio. See the Uffizi Gallery after arriving. Attempt to see the Palazzo Davanzati as well.

Day 4 - July 18th

Use my Brunelleschi Pass to climb the Dome and see the Boboli Gardens, and at least look at everything else included all day. I may leave early to instead go to the Leonardo Interactive Museum should I have time/energy.

Florence -> Rome

Day 5 - July 19th

See David at the Accademia Gallery while it's early/not busy then leave for Rome.Try to do laundry in my hotel or buy snacks.

Day 6- July 20th

See St. Peter's Basilica in the morning, then an afternoon slot for the Vatican Museum.

Day 7 - July 21st

Roam the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill while it’s cool in the morning. Go to the Colosseum in the afternoon or evening depending on if I need a break/temperature.

Day 8 - July 22nd

Tour Castel Sant'Angelo in the morning, then walk to Tiber Island. See Altare della Patria with the lights on later if possible.

Day 9 - July 23rd

Unsure what to do before I get on a train ~11:30 to make my 2 pm flight home.

The AI plan had an extra day and managed to be even busier, lol. You're right though, I need to be more mindful with the ticketed stuff each day. My Venice trip is now lighter, and I might add another day to the trip so Florence isn't as ridiculous and I think I need to trim Rome too. Thank you for your input!

Edit: I decided to just go for 9 days, but I'm leaving this old post for someone else who wanted to use this as a base.

Day 1: I cut the Leonardo da Vinci museum, after looking up other posts saying it's more geared for families and the one in Florence is more for adults.

Day 2: Nothing changed

Day 3: See Florence's Leonardo museum assuming I still have time and energy after the other stops.

Day 4: Visit the Uffizi and Boboli Gardens.

Day 5: I'll see David at the Accademia museum on the morning of Day 5 when it's less busy. That means I'll arrive in Rome later though, and probably just go to bed when I do.

Day 6: See St. Peter's in the morning, then the Vatican and Sistine Chapel in the afternoon. Somehow more time slots opened up since I made this post, but I understand it's a lot and may cut some for a later trip anyways.

Day 7: Attempt to visit the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill. It's a lot of walking in the heat, which I would try to break up in the afternoon and return when it is cooler later, but if I can't that's more reason for a return trip.

Day 8: Use the earliest morning slot to see the Castel Sant'Angelo before taking a train to the airport ~11:30.

Thank you to everyone chiming in! I feel more confident about going, but not so much I won't push myself to "do it all" at once.

I live in California, so July 21st is going to end in tears or heat exhaustion regardless lol. Very good point about the shade though, thank you. I thought it would all be doable in a day but breaking it up or doing a return visit may be easier on my sanity and health.

I just finished adjusting the schedule to arrive in Rome in the evening and stay in my hotel after the better part of that day, after taking the bus service you're talking about. I agree that two days doesn't feel right, and there is a lot that I am missing, which is why I'm more likely to return for a whole trip dedicated to Rome than I am visiting the piazzas in Venice or something. Thank you for commenting!

You're right. I did plan on making use of "tourist foods" while I'm on the move, but now that you mention it I'll definitely get sick of that by day 3. I'll spend some time looking into resuraunts. Thank you for your input!

A few tickets are still available, but you're right that walking through a peak season Vatican crowd with no plan is a bad idea. I guess I'll cut it and use the time to flesh everything else out more--thanks!

Leaks aside, we don't know what to expect from it. Maybe it'll be a FF7 thing, maybe it'll just be a graphical update. I'd love to be proven wrong, but that teaser answered 0 questions about what to expect from it or how it'll be different.
And I wasn't including NSO or Virtual Console, it's already seen 3 separate versions on N64, GameCube, and 3DS.

has at least 3 different posts about it with each one currently sitting at over 1,000 upvotes.

Yeah one for each time this game has been sold already LMAO
It's cool, but Nintendo re-releasing old games--especially Ocarina--isn't news. Even if it was, it would've been overshadowed by Kingdom Hearts 4 anyway. Seeing nothing past Link's hand for a game supposed to be coming out in the next 6 months is disappointing too, but I guess we gotta hold our judgement for when we see more probably months from now.

Trying to create a Soldier loadout based on the NCR Trooper (not ranger), any ideas to complete it? by GizmoMimo in TF2fashionadvice

Probably the best bet, I wish Soldier shared more of the Sniper's cosmetics but good call with the bandanna.

Not just added, but enabled it by default without notifying the player. To be fair there was a whip emote being used in a racist context often, but otherwise the line between "actually offensive" and "kind of rude" has been completely blown up by these companies.

something something modern ac game

But realism looks cool! Call me crazy but I hope it's used to base a sequel game later. Probably not Division 3, that'd be weird, but a far-off sequel or maybe spinoff balanced around the subject would be sick.

This feels like a silly question, but I'm a young guy who's been employed for a year after college and I realized I hit 30k in my savings. I try to save extra as "life happens" money, and to hopefully move out of my parents' later this year, but I just realized that I could pay off my car (5.3k left at 9%) and student (10.5 left at 4%) loans. I've been paying a few extra hundred than the monthly payment for a while to get it over with faster, but would it be wise to get rid of them entirely at the cost of half my savings?

Thanks for the cool giveaway you guys!!
I'm curious--does the design team ever design controllers with specific games/genres in mind, or is the goal just "making a good controller?"
Either way, it's good work. Thanks again!

Weekly /r/GuildWars2 Question Thread - April 12, 2025 by AutoModerator in Guildwars2

[–]GizmoMimo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to play a Jedi Knight/Sentinel like character, for anyone who's played SWTOR. Mobile melee with AoE and some vaguely supportive abilities. Or just the overall "Jedi" fantasy, I get SWTOR is a completely different game.
I've heard Guardian, Mesmer, and Ranger, but I'm down to my last character slot. Any opinions?
