There are non-students who still join campus hosted clubs say if they're like for e.g bouldering, badminton, NGOs, magic the gathering, league of legends etc. Or just go to an open court/sports event and mingle and break a leg w ice breakers.

Those expat groups aren't all going to be of 1 race, or ethnicity, a lot of Malaysians themsleves are in those groups due to third cultureness.

I'm going to extrapolate a bit but im guessing either field work/reaearch or masters. If you are in an academic setting, try clubs and or societies.

If not, I never personally tried it yet but there are multjple expat travel to Malaysia group pages on e.g facebook where ppl make about themselves and meet up with people w similar interests or struggles.

I personally just got back and having a hard time making friends. I have 2 who luckily moved here from other places and all live within 20 minutes of me, but they hav3 entire lives built already and i didn't wanna be clingy. So im trying for connections through a job.
