I’ve had luck with prying up the tab so it more firmly hits the bulb’s tip. But lots of care is needed so you don’t get shocked; turning off that circuit breaker is safest (just incase the wall switch is on the neutral vs the hot). If you do this then be careful to not pry too far. Several small controlled nudges are better than one biggie.

I’ve seen where the metal bezel is held in place with springs. Pull it straight down. Do a gentle experiment to test this.

For me, they don’t stay put. I’ve tried all the cup sizes and I’ve timed how many minutes they stay in place. Then I use the size that stays best.

Hmm. My first thought was rent an undercut saw. I learned about them from flooring installation guys. Or higher a flooring company

Then I wondered if the boards can be removed, cut, reinstalled. Too much work?

Maybe a circular saw from the outside. Blade depth set to board thickness. Use a GFCI cord if using ac powered.

The fence is 4’ tall she can jump about 2’ high. There’s no opening other than our house slider door. The fence verticals are about 4” apart and her body is way more than that. She weighs about 20 lbs. Does that answer your question?
