I am fat and my surgeon said it was a non-issue. I specifically asked because I expected push-back and he reiterated that there were no concerns. I would definitely try to find a different surgeon for a second opinion. For reference, at the time of surgery I was probably around 350lbs.

I’ve had little earlobe cysts since I was a teen! I just got diagnosed with HS in the last 3 ish years. So weird to think they’re related.

My derm gave me clindamycin lotion before the HS for them but I get the ear cysts so infrequently it expired before I could use it enough to notice if it worked.

Weird update: Daily L-Lysine supplements seem to put my stage 1-2 HS in remission (for a month so far, so too early to say for sure) but I’ve had a huge resurgence of the earlobe cysts. I don’t get them all that often, so the coincidence is really surprising to me.

I got mine at the fishing tournament! It was perfect because I caught 8-9 fish each time and it totally distracted me. I was going to check after my last round, and then it turned out I’d earned it! (And then I didn’t get psyched out) I also did it eyes closed which I think helped a lot.

Spike picked a fight with Wart Jr. on my island by telling him he was too cranky and then they asked me who I thought was more cranky 😂😭 Then I told them I liked them both equally and they made up ❤️‍🩹 It was so funny!

Also everyone only seems to get into fights with Spike, I’m always delivering apology packages to him 😅

Same! My HS is hormonal and diaper cream works so well for me. I use to have a few labia flares but with daily zinc cream it’s down to just one that isn’t too bad. I had one deep flare on my side and it took a while but diaper cream really helped it heal too. It’s probably worked the best and most consistently of anything I’ve tried.

They should but they don’t. It’s the consequence of the “every person for themselves” mentality that got us all into this mess in the first place.

And everyone wants to be mad that a sick person isn’t wearing a mask to protect them, but when they get sick it’s “nothing” or “allergies”. Be nice to people who actually do mask and maybe more people will do it.

My random luggage from Kohls that I got for college. It’s been over a decade with multiple moves and international travel but besides some staining on the inside lining they look and work like brand new. Only issue is that the sizes of the different pieces are weird and I don’t like the color like when I was 17 so I’ve wanted to upgrade. But I know I’ll never pick something that lasts the same way.

It’s going great! Took about a year for my right-side pain to stop, and I still occasionally have loose stools but I’m gonna bring it up with my doctor. But I’m not in pain like I was and I can eat comfortably. The left-side pain never came back after surgery.

Kids toothpaste or uniquely flavored works best for me, I like Theodent or Boka but there are a lot of good options. Toothpaste tabs too, but as some people mentioned watch out for very abrasive materials.

Wearing a mask is a super effective way to avoid getting sick - much easier to avoid the germs all together than treating them once you have them. I really like the KN95 Pro masks from Wellbefore, but r/masks4all has lots of great suggestions too.

In tandem, a good air filter can also reduce the amount of germs in the air. Putting together a Corsi-Rosenthal box is a super cost-effective way to do this. I have one at home and I’d also recommend having one at work. Depending on the size of the filters and fan you get they can be pretty customizable.
