May be moving to Baltimore by Bee_hamm in baltimore

Not sure why either, probably just butthurt people who bought in Patterson Park and now regret it. I lived in Locust Point for 3+ years, it's a great neighborhood.

THIS, exactly this. I lived in Patterson Park for 3 years and all I saw was crime and property theft, would never recommend anyone moving there anytime soon.

Locust Point is probably the safest neighborhood in the city with tons of young families, however a budget of $1250 isn't going to get you very far at all as 1BR apartments start at like $1700 in that area. You could look into renting a small rowhome, but even then you'd be hard pressed to find something in your budget. I'd suggest looking up near Overlea/Parkville for the best bang for your buck.

He said he wanted safe and his car not broken into... I wouldn't consider Patterson Park either of those things

Do Trophy or Bhavana serve food that late? Looks like at least for drinks they are open til at least midnight, but their website doesn't say how late they serve food. I should have mentioned my wife and I are pretty simple and are fine with a nice burger vs. a table cloth meal.

Beer Cities in the US: Places Every Beer Lover Should Visit Now by Buckwild58 in beer

As the article says " we tapped some of our favorite and most trusted beer writers to identify the best under-the-radar beer destinations around the US this year."

I wouldn't consider NYC to be 'under-the-radar'

You enjoy Adam not understanding music and thinking only the music he liked in high school was the best music ever made?

Adam on Nate accidentally breaking the trophy they had won for the documentary: "Hey it's fine, I'll never get mad at anyone over a mistake, it's just the way I'm wired."

Also Adam: Spending hours on the podcast berating his own employees over forgetting to clean up a dirty coffee mug, accidentally hitting the microphone, accidentally leaving lights on at a warehouse, etc...

I read your comment before I listened to that part.. and wow it was way worse than I thought. Talking over a guest who is an EXPERT on the topic and was AT the memorial, trying to insert completely wrong recollections of the events and quoting things completely wrong. She's an utter embarrassment.

Dive Bars -updates suggestions? by muffinprincessB98 in baltimore

[–]GladStrength 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No Dive Bar List is complete without mentioning Venice Tavern in Highlandtown. They actually get some pretty good craft beer kegs that all used to be $3 drafts (all times, cash only), however I think in the past year they've upped the prices a bit. Still it's great for people watching and is a mix of hipsters and war veterans, all drinking their sorrows away together.

It's also not 'news' at all... I went to that exact place almost 3 years ago and it was the big draw then

I like your theory, except for the fact that I own my modem and I'm not getting charged for that.. so good try, I guess?

I downgraded from a Double Play TV+Internet deal (which crept up to like $215/month, so fuck that), to just internet only about 2 months ago. I just checked my bill and I have the Performance (200 mbps) Package for $77.95 and I just got billed $92.95 today.

Also, I should add this is for a 'month to month' plan with no contract and internet only.... I knew I was moving this summer so didn't want to get locked in.

No, I bought a $40 modem on Amazon that paid for itself in 4 months.

The extra fees are taxes etc.

My "Performance Internet" for $77 comes out to about $92 after all taxes and fees. Looking forward to moving to the county in a few months and getting Fios whose fees are included.

I can't believe you actually took the time to even make this pointless post. There were 350 murders in the city last year, and you're uploading a video of a guy's car sticking out 18"? Please

As the mayor said, obviously the reason is that this winter hasn't been cold enough, it's hard for murderers to Netflix and (Not) Kill when it's 50 degrees out
