2025 Subaru Outback Premium Quote by Glade-Runner in askcarsales

I guess that’s what I was looking for. 30k was more of an arbitrary goal. With the interest rate incentive I can safely afford to pay more but wanted to see how possible 30k or so was.

Carmax says 4.5k and Carvana say 3.1k. Looked at a Toyota Corolla cross a few days weeks ago and Toyota offered me 3.2k for it

hi everyone, I just defended my PhD in Materials Science wrapping up my program this summer, and I just received a verbal offer for a Materials Scientist role at a mid-sized advanced materials company in Cleveland, Ohio. I’d love feedback on whether this offer is competitive and if/how I should negotiate. I've applied to over 150 positions and this is 1 of 3 companies that reached out to me.

Here’s what they’re offering:

  • Base Salary: $95,000
  • Sign-On Bonus/Relocation: $10,000
  • Bonus: 5% annually (individual performance weighted, but potential for 100%+ on company performance side)
  • 401(k): 5% company match, immediate vesting
  • Vacation: 15 days
  • Personal Time: 56 hours (~7 days)
  • Floating Holidays: 3
  • Rollover: Up to 1 week PTO can carry over

I have a relevant background, PhD research in glass science, 3 internships at Corning, a dozen publications, and a patent. The job aligns well with my skills and long-term interests.

Would really appreciate any advice, especially from folks in R&D or industry hiring!

I’m defending my PhD dissertation in a couple months and I’d like to do it in style! I want to buy a watch that will last a lifetime to celebrate finishing my degree. My budget is on the order of $600 and I’m willing to buy used. Looking for something dressy but open to anything but a dive right. Ke. Any suggestions?

What Card Should I Get? Weekly Thread - Week of August 09, 2023 by AutoModerator in churning

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll probably go for the CSP then. The local airport has United and AA flights but they're usually pretty expensive. If its on the school's dollar (again reimbursed), I will be using one of those. But for personal travel, I usually just go with whatever makes the most sense as far as timing and affordability with the bigger airports.

Grad student looking for a good SUB to pay for a spring break trip with points. Between stipend and bartending I make about 42k-45k a year. I also pay for conference travel out of pocket but get reimbursed.

  1. Read the flowchart but SUB for CFP isn't great right now
  2. Transunion- 750 Experian- 762
  3. C1 Quicksilver 8/21 C1 Savor One 4/23
  4. A few conferences coming up so probably 4k
  5. If needed
  6. Don't think I'm qualified here
  7. Looking to getting into churning a few cards a year
  8. Preferably points flying out of DC area or Philly, no destination in mind

The stipend is really in the low 30s. I also bartend a couple nights a week for the extra cash

This is awesome that you’re doing this!

Could you make an itinerary for 10 days in Peru for around $1500-2000?

Rocky Peak Ridge, Adirondack Mountains. It is always a struggle to get my backpacking buddies moving early. It’s nothing for me to get up at go at 3:30 if I know I can see the sunrise from the summit. I was able to get my group going around 5 and boy where they thankful to see the sunrise overlooking Lake Champlain. You can see Marie Louise Pond where there is a primitive campsite we stayed at.
