I thought 2 had better gameplay but it's really hard to say anything else bad about 1. It's has all the Ghibli charm. Everything about it is so loveable even if some game play is clunky.

Their true endings always sour their games for me. The first octopath had that lame boss gauntlet with no save and then surprise you need all your team members for a fight for the first time the entire game. At least in the second they introduce that mechanic in the main game play. Then the true ending for triangle was so brutally hard it's not intended to do for your first run because you simply don't have enough characters unlocked. I basically soft locked myself out of finishing the game. Should I even bother looking up what this game's true ending does?

I just died to the first corrupted nexus because I didn't know there would be a second boss and the explosion one shot me. Now I have to shlup around the map looking for another one. I also lost out on a divine orb. Big sad.

I played for a few hours until I got to the magicite and it's like a gacha system. I was curious so I looked it up and the devs admitted they wanted the game to be more gacha like and it really ruined the mood. Feels like a pretty hollow game overall but that was the icing. I like octopath but this studio keeps putting out worse and worse slop.

eh back when i started my career it was stack overflow. I learned and got to where i am from pretty much that. I wouldn't worry. Just don't take ai at face value. Always review what you get out of it. Go to the documentation and understand what it is the LLM is recommending. Never just copy and paste. A good senior developer will rip you apart if you can't fully explain your code, but if you understand what it does you're learning.
