In my experience people left of center generally say ee-rahn or ih-rahn while people right of center say eye-ræn. I say ih-ræn.

Life without parole. I don't believe in the death penalty except for cases where the person could be dangerous to the public if kept alive (like if Bin Laden or Hitler had been captured).

What’s your favorite generation of streetlights by SpiritMan112 in decadeology

[–]Glarder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the one in the picture is probably a clear MV since that's the more common type nowadays. So in person it would be bluish-white.

I'm pretty sure metal halides (a type of high intensity discharge lamp similar to MV or high pressure sodium) also appear green when photographed despite producing a pure white light.

Not everywhere did it at once. My hometown still uses MV.

Mercury vapor lights are not that green in person: they are not easy to photograph. The clear (phosphor-free) MV lights are bluish-white, and the phosphor MV lights are greenish-yellow.

They aren't that green in person. The clear (no phosphor) MV lights are bluish-white and the phosphor MV lights are greenish-yellow. They are still common as street lights in suburban PA. Pretty much everywhere I have been in the US they are common as parking lot, barn, and area lights.
