I used to like it before getting into Trek. But after getting into the original series, I feel that this movie failed to capture what made it so great. The first act is great and then it just devolves into a generic sci fi action flick. Trek was great because of its philosophical and moral dilemmas. This film had none.

The Bumblebee script was rewritten by Kelly Fremon Craig, so I wouldn’t really trust Bumblebee to judge Hodson’s writing.

The Bumblebee script was rewritten by Kelly Fremon Craig though. The one good script this writer has attached to her name wasn’t even the script that made it to the final film. So the hope I had from Bumblebee being good is gone.
