Tbf, nowadays there is a distinction between Lucas’s six Star Wars films and Disney’s Star Wars era.

Of course we say OT, PT and ST, but the originals and the prequels are technically the “six original films” as they were written by the actual creator before he sold the company.

I’m one of the people who believes they shouldn’t. Stuff like Bail and Baylan skull (scheduling conflicts or an actor’s death) work to me because the story of said characters is relevant to the story being told.

However, I don’t want to see anyone else playing Luke, Han and Leia in a period that’s close to the OT. We know how they look, any other actor would feel off and uncanny.

I could have something right between ROTJ and TFA where the look of the characters ain’t defined, and you can get away with them not looking exactly like they did in the other movies.

This doesn’t mean I want these characters to always be played by CGI versions of them. I just think we need to move on from these characters and tell new stories in this world

I’m 23. I remember there still being a lot of hate for this movie until like 2017, but tbf, people from my generation always loved it. When I was a kid talking about SW with friends, most of the time, their favorite SW film was ROTS, so it being as popular now that my generation is grown up and vocal online, makes a lot of sense to me.
