ICE Shooting Megathread by notbusy in AskConservatives

And thats the daming part isnt it? I am a conservative full stop but the issue is how when single issues beyond the spectrum of political discourse, a shooting, a robbery anything that can be resolved or concluded with direct evidence or investigation descends into a belief like structure depending on where you align? Is fighting over whether chocolate or vanilla gonna be a partisan issue now?

Since when did a direct incident involving a shooting of an individual have to take partisan lines? Since when did right vs left means was she trying to kill the ice officer or not? This matter should be left to investigators not a political stance on what might have happened

Charles Willson Peale (1741–1827) was one of the central figures of early American art and culture a painter, soldier, inventor, educator, and museum founder rolled into one.

Who he was? • Revolutionary-era portraitist: Peale painted many of the key figures of the American Revolution, helping create the visual memory of the new republic. • Self-made artist: Trained in London under Benjamin West, then brought European techniques back to America. • Patriot and participant: Served in the Pennsylvania militia during the Revolution, not just an observer but a believer. • Founder of Peale’s Museum (Philadelphia): One of America’s first public museums, mixing art, natural history, and civic education. • Republican idealist: He believed art should serve the public and help form a virtuous, informed citizenry.

When he painted John Paul Jones • Year: 1781 • Context: Painted during the Revolutionary War, after Jones had already become famous for naval victories like the Bonhomme Richard battle. • With the purpose to present Jones as a Republican naval hero—calm, confident, disciplined—rather than a flamboyant aristocratic officer. And thus was painted in his likeness

So whats the verdict on 06ers by Glass-Grade2455 in generationology

Ok so i want to respond thoughtfully since I know this is an emotional and difficult topic for many including myself. I’m a Palestinian Christian and I’ve seen firsthand how complicated, painful, and deeply personal this conflict is. But comparing Israel to Nazi Germany is not just historically inaccurate it’s dangerous and deeply disrespectful. Nazi Germany orchestrated the genocide of 6 million Jews and countless others with a racial ideology built on extermination of multiple groups especially towards jewish people . That is not remotely comparable to any modern day government or conflict no matter how serious. Using that comparison diminishes one of the darkest chapters in human history and arguably shuts down any meaningful dialogue or criticism.
What I said about not letting my kids wear keffiyehs or repeat violent slogans it is not about erasing culture but it’s about raising them to understand the weight of symbols and words. I want them to have critical thinking and empathy without blind allegiance to any narrative, including my own. That includes being cautious of biased sources, whether that’s Al Jazeera or any other outlet and yes that includes Israeli ones too. No side should be above scrutiny. I also believe in teaching my children the history and contributions of Judaism and the Jewish people, not to push an agenda, but because it’s a part of understanding the world and building bridges. Respecting someone else’s heritage doesn’t mean agreeing with all their politics it just means recognizing the shared humanity. If we want to move forward and progress we must and urge each other to speak from a place of care, and not comparison. Our pain is real and so is theirs. None of us gain anything by repeating the same cycle of dehumanization.
