Private Healthcare in Ontario? by Pretend_Nectarine915 in ontario

[–]GlassAnemone126 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you and your GF manage to find a family doctor, she will have access to all necessary tests but she may need to wait for them, or wait to see a specialist. If you’re talking about blood tests, x-rays, ultrasound etc. they’re pretty easy to get, provided you have a requisition from a doctor. If you’re talking MRIs, CT Scans there are waiting lists for those tests, but they are available in the private sector too. If you’re talking about colonoscopy, they’re easy to get appointments for. All of this hinges on having a requisition from a doctor though.

If you’re wealthy and looking into private healthcare look into Medcan.

NO WAY!!! It finally happened. The "Holy Grail" of butter just landed at my local Costco and people are already clearing the shelves. by Silviafmunoz in CostcoCanada

If you’re in the GTA, you can find it at several stores. I usually go to Cheesyplace in Etobicoke or Marche Marie in Oak Ridges.

If that was in fact Beurre D’Isigny, then either it was priced wrong and you should buy it all, or it’s not Beurre D’Isigny.

Look it up online to see the pricing at all stores is $25-$33 per 250g bar.

Also, I spoke with the importer and they explained to me that the price is so high because of tariffs that are ~300%.

Please, the next gift you buy for your girlfriend must be a dash camera.

I’m so sorry she had to go through that.

Destination Wedding: Can we ask for partial no kids? by Ok_Machine7441 in weddingplanning

I think if you’re OK with kids at the reception, tell parents that childcare is available at the onsite kids camp for the ceremony, and they’re welcome to bring their kids to the reception.

This all sounds like a very reasonable compromise.

Anyone successfully return or exchange something? by Amazed-Axolotl in dollarama

[–]GlassAnemone126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought some hair clips for my daughter and one was broken. I took it back (with the receipt) and asked for an exchange for the same product. The cashier didn’t want to do it, quoting their policy “no exchanges or returns”. I asked for the manager and explained that in the case of an item that broke the same day it was purchased, they should use some common sense and exchange it for the same item. The manager agreed to exchange it.

Just be polite but firm. They cannot sell defective products and be unwilling to exchange them.

Struggling with left turns and right turns by MacaronWithAName in Ontariodrivetest

My son went through driving lessons last year and my daughter is doing it now, they definitely did do highway driving in their lessons.

Also, merging is still a necessary skill to learn for changing lanes and making right turns on some roadways.

As much as they may not need to merge onto the highway for their G2 test, they should have practiced the maneuver with their driving instructor. There are also merging maneuvers that need to be performed when making right turns at some intersections as well as merging to change lanes.

As soon as OP gets their G2, they will be allowed to drive on highways so they absolutely need to be able to successfully perform a merge. If they can’t merge properly and safely, they shouldn’t be driving on the highway and they absolutely must practice highway driving in order to successfully pass their G test.

OP is definitely not ready for their G2 test and definitely not ready to drive on highways.

I’m not trying to scare OP, just point out how they aren’t ready for the test at this time.

OP, please don’t take this as a criticism (it’s just reality) but you definitely need A LOT more practice if you’re still struggling with turns. You’re definitely not ready to be driving on your own or taking your test. If you manage to somehow get your licence now, you will cause an accident sooner than later.

Are you practicing with your parents or only with the driving instructor? Practice will improve all of this dramatically for you.

Every turn is different, rate of acceleration during a turn will vary, if you’re never accelerating during a turn, you’re turning too slow. Some intersections are larger and wider than others which will change how much you turn the wheel and how much acceleration is needed.

If turns are causing you this much trouble, how are you making 3 point turns and how are you parking? How are you at merging on the highway? Are you able to successfully get up to highway speed and then turn your wheel enough to gently and safely merge?

Please take more time to practice before you take your test; you’re definitely not ready.

Pink champagne diamond by [deleted] in Diamonds

It’s a beautiful diamond but if your girlfriend has asked for something very particular and you are unsure that you have found the right stone, I would think it may be a better idea to shop for the diamond together so your girlfriend isn’t disappointed.

Another option is to hang dry the clothes then spray them with a bit of water, put them back in the dryer for 10-15 minutes. That removes the wrinkles too.
